Posted February 12, 20169 yr Seems this knowledge got lost between generations, a lot of people have been asking me about the "special 980 Ti XP driver". It's really as simple as adding the device ID of 980 Ti (17C8h) in nv4_dispi.inf the most current XP driver for say original GTX Titan. See example inf files here https://copy.com/uHw7us1P7jQZLyuK (353.62) Latest drivers as of writing 361.75 http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/97762/en-us (32bit) http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/97763/en-us (64bit)
February 12, 20169 yr Exactly. In the future, for anyone who might be interested, this is the "universal" guide that can be used: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=377158 To add upcoming cards, the Device ID can be found on GPUZ. So instead of 17C8 for 980 ti, just grab ID from GPUZ and add it on the nv4_dispi as mentioned above by Elmor.
March 22, 20169 yr lol, this I needed few weeks ago. I did this afterall (found some help around the google).

Is that step necessary. Can I use this exact line that I found in the example inf and add to the OS section of the inf I am modding? %NVIDIA_DEV.17C8% = Section008, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_17C8

Just use latest (non 980-ti compatible) xp drivers and add the cards into the inf file. ^^ If you have issues I can send you the inf file

April 18, 20169 yr Hi guys, I'm just wondering if you guys are able to run 2 monitors with the driver mod. I'm trying to get the asus gtx 970 to work with 2 monitors on xp64, but i get BSOD every time booting into windows.
April 23, 20169 yr Yes, with one monitor it works on xp64. Update: Okay it seems I could run dual monitor only if I use one digital signal and one analog signal (dvi to vga). I would get BSOD if I try to use any two digital signals. Edited April 24, 20169 yr by iGotCapped

February 16, 20178 yr guys im running into a strange issue, never had before... im trying to bench 3dmark01SE on Apex, install worked fine from usb, XP 64bit installed, 361.75 driver for 980Ti installed correctly also after replacing the n4dispi file. but when im starting 01SE it also takes longer than usual (-nosysteminfo not working afaik) and once i hit RUN benchmark it goes not responding on the loading screen, it never starts 3d... does not matter which test im selecting... driver and 01SE resinstall not helps... on event viewer i found this error message: any clue? *mod Ok it seems it was some vsync issue. after several driver reinstall and enabling back vsync 3d works fine.
