In the end, the CPU only needs the voltage that it needs. And for me that's 1,288v CPU-Z @ 5400 Mhz @ R15 with 21 ° c water temp on my system ....with LLC5And something else ... for example. the Asus Apex IX z270 push the tension up with LLC8. If you do that, for example. 1,30v. set with LLC 8 that was under load ~ 1.33v. on . What CPU-Z says under load is what counts....just before the bench ends Happy new year 2020 ??? Reality is this is an golden cpu that most likly does 1.29 ish volt on oc formula or dark boards for 5.4ghz cb 15. Most Asus boards nead lcc 7 to show real load voltage even at ambient. I like Mahaudi,i have nothing against him,i am actually inclined to buy this cpu as i have a shittier one, but this cpu will not do 5.4@1.28 on any other board(i have all of them). The Asus Apex X Z270 / Z370 shows exactly + 100mV more at CPU-Z. than the XI series. And I also mean the Z390 Dark shows 100 mV more. With the Asus Z390 boards, the voltage is measured at a different location than the Z170 or Z270 board. Z170 + Z270 + Z370 vs. Z390 .... ~ 100mV less That's why the CPUs on the Asrock OCFM almost always needed 80-100mV less voltage. But they got just as warm under Prime95. My old 9900K needed exactly 100mV. less on the Asus Gene XI than on the Asus Apex X Z370. suzuki Posted January 1, 2020 Share Posted January 1, 2020 There are differences even between same series of boards(binned z270 for better voltage and ram freq,same for z370 and impact,although z370 was solid for ram oc). There were even 50 mv difference on the same voltage and settings. I have a friend who is not overclocker,he binned 5xAsus Apex 10 for his daily pc,minimum voltage. I agree it is nice when you see under 1.30V in cpu-z but you set 1.45V and on another brand for example msi or gigabyte users might reach same freq but they will reach it when set 1.45V for example in bios and in their case cpu-z would read 1.45-1.48 whatever. And yes, on asus z390 the reading method has changed and it is much much more accurate to the actual voltage the cpu gets. On Apex X for example you will have to set 1.45V, you will reach same freq while your cpu-z will show 1.488-1.496. Remember you give a voltage command to the board but the voltage that the cpu cores actually get is different since we have not yet found the perfect conductor. So if you don't wnat to dissapoint a buyer advertise what is set in bios so he can replicate your result. You say 5400@1.28, buyer has a different board, he tries 1.28 no go, 1.30 no go, 1.35V no go he will already think you scammed him. You say 1.45V and he needs 1.45 V. or lower., he will be happy. Long story short, your cpu is very strong since 5400 9900k on regular water is very had to find, the price is fine but don't over-advertise this... 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Setting in the bios is now LCC 8 with 1.290v. CPU-Z on the desktop shows 1.288v. .... also all the time during the R15 bench. Water temp was 20 ° C Is that enough now? ?
