Massman Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 (edited) Hi all, As you might have read in another forum topic, we have begun our planning and development for HWBOT R5. With Dennis having joined the HWBOT team, we can increase the development pace quite a bit. Therefore, we have also changed the way we approach major releases. R5 is, in contrary to R4 which launched as finished product, a work-in-progress with features being released when ready. The full-blown R5 can thus only be experience in a couple months time. At this point in the development stage we are close to release the first new R5 features. In this thread, we will keep track of the released features as well as announce the ones that are planned for R5. We have no pinned down exactly what will be included in R5, so we're still adding and removing ideas from the backlog. K404 Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Is the fundamental engine of HWB the same? Same hardware points, same 20 hardware + 15 global + competition (+WR) for the league ranking? Quote
Massman Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 Apart from the UGP/GTPP exotic class fix, we only plan a complete make-over for the Pro OC League. All the other HWBoint-related stuff (rankings, points, leagues) will see no change Quote
TaPaKaH Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Pro League stuff sounds interesting yes, the Pro OC members will have to bench a lot of obscure mid-end garbage Quote
Splave Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 yes, the Pro OC members will have to bench a lot of obscure mid-end garbage please no, i spend way too much on the top end already Quote
Massman Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 yes, the Pro OC members will have to bench a lot of obscure mid-end garbage please no, i spend way too much on the top end already No, pro oc will not have to bench a lot of obscure mid-end garbage ... Quote

Lucky_n00b Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 No, pro oc will not have to bench a lot of obscure mid-end garbage ... So what is your plan for the Pro OC makeover bro? I'm interested in hearing that Quote
knopflerbruce Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 This thread doesn't belong in this subforum? Better move it as it's quite important Quote
Vinster Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 I hope R5 is deployed better than R4, I just had the shivers come over me as I read the title... What about a Team Hardware Library to compliment a users hardware library? Vin Quote
knopflerbruce Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 R5 is just "R4.1", so to speak. R4 was the biggest upgrade we've seen so far, so there really shouldn't be that many bugs this time around. Quote
Devroush Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 (edited) Yep, bugfixing is still a high priority. If you see one, report them in the bug thread and we'll take a look at it! http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=59847&page=2. The bug backlog is slowly decreasing, I promise . knopflerbruce Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Ehr, no. R5 = R5. I put the " " there for a reason:) It wasn't meant to be taken literally, just to show what I meant. Quote
IanCutress Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 ProOC to differentiate between individuals and seeded teams of people more than likely. Quote
Massman Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Updated the opening post. Added the release article for 5.3.0 and 5.4.0 as well as added a couple of planned features. Quote
Massman Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 Apoligies for the delay in updates. V5.8.0 and V5.9.0 have been closed but are not yet in production. Once it's in production, I will make another news post with the new features. Benchmark record timeline anyone? V5.10.0 finally has the mobile benching rankings included. It's going to be a hard nut to crack, but hopefuly you'll like it Quote
Gamer Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Keep it up PJ! Maybe that's why you don't reply on Skype Quote
