RealBench Challenge 2016 - Challenge II Discussion
Calathea replied to websmile's topic in HWBOT Competitions
Websmile, I wish this Internet connection thingie should of been mentioned in the competition rules. I'm not mad, but I did spend several hours on this comp only to be greeted by the "computer says NO" this morning. And that's a bad start on any morning. That said, Realbench has grown into a pretty neat bench. I like it! -

Thanks Rauf, I'll remember that next time. Made the result this morning and then went to work so it's too late. I'm always benching last minute -

Invalid data file: Unable to parse the datafile I guess I'm screwed. I hate benchmarks with validations files... it shall be known that I tried, and reached 147k Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet -
I've seen some people desolder the whole IC, maybe that could work.

I'll add to this, that I hope Dimas scammed buyers will get through this rough time well. Wish them the best.

Yes, not needed when you use VID mode? I've only made one zombie based on TiN's guide for 8800GTX, there he recommended using vsense pins, however I never got it to work with the vmod. This was several years ago. I'd like to to do something like this, the 580 Matrix zombie looks awesome!

Very neatly done! Thanks for showing. Have you tried solid copper strips instead of wire? Are you using any feedback from vgpu to the controller?

Cool!

Fun to see so many people sharing s775 goodness. Here's how I insulated the board, I had too much free time back then F1EE and some kind of duniek or ryba nb pot.

I'm no master lol but from what I recall it was mostly dependant on the cpu, the E8500 I had came from Crotale (you remember him right? ) and it was pretty good. For me it always worked the best with 266 strap and Hyper ram. I didn't have to go nuts with PLL and/or VTT, only vcore and northbridge volt. Also lowest possible temp wasn't always the best FSB-wise. Good luck, REX was the most fun!

Hi guys been taking a break from extreme oc and computers in general, but I recently aquired an old and rare MIIIE. I bought it used (ofc), the guy said it didn't start and hung on the cpu_led. This was true, but a simple physical switch between the two bios chips made it start again. However, if I leave it be for a day or more, it needs clear cmos in order to boot, otherwise stuck on cpu_led as before. When that's done I can use it all I want, until I leave it be again. I'm really at a loss for what to do. Cmos battery is replaced and still good.

Didn't say it was smart running super high voltage
-
YES. Yes it is fair. Everyone can do it for free. Soon enough some guy will complain that others run dangerously high voltages and that isn't fair. Be reasonable please.

Don't be so sure Good option is to just cut a high end graphics card vrm and use that, make a "zombie".
-
Yes, the 344.11 should install just fine with any maxwell vga. I tried it on GB 970, galax/kfa2 970 and my team mates 980 strix.

344.11 with asus mem locked bios seems the way to go. http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=118621&page=2 If anyone finds the solution how to use other cards like GTX970 in XP, I'd really like to learn!
