Oh, and another thing: From usability point of view mandatory fields should be easily distinguishable. The most popular solution is to mark all mandatory fields with a red asterisk after the label, like this: Note that you have a legend next to submit button - [*: required field], but none of the fields are marked that way. Only the fieldset legend for processor is marked The way it is done currently and because the fact that not all fields have labels, it might be easier to add an explanation to the legend of every fieldset, as it's done for [verification (mandatory)]. For CPU you could have something like this in the legend text for the fieldset "processor (processor and cooling required)". The point is that the user should have a visual information about required info he needs to enter on the initial stage, not only after Submit button clicked. Aside from that, one thing that had been noted before. Please change the tooltip position, so it appears on top of the field, not on right and covering the next field that is supposed to be filled. IMO it would be better. $(function(){ $("input[title]").tipTip({maxWidth: "auto", activation: "focus", defaultPosition: "top", delay: "100"}); });

Yep, usually if a value needs to be selected the dropdown options look like this: <option selected="selected">-- Select cooling --</option> <option>Stock</option> <option>Air</option> <option>Water</option> <option>SS</option> <option>Dry Ice</option> <option>Cascade</option> <option>LN2</option> <option>LHe</option> When nothing selected (default option left) there's a validation error that you must select your cooling. So I think this is the best solution.

Any way to downgrade from 0902 to 0498 bios version of Maximus IV Gene-Z? Not sure how the latest version compares to the old 3D bioses, especially for 3DMark01. Tried ez flash, asus update windows app and bupdate under dos, no luck. Is there a need to flash back to older bios? Edit: Found the solution - AFUWIN/AFUDOS for Aptio bioses worked fine, then reflashed from the EZ Flash utility just in case. Still have a problem with bclk, I'm stuck at 100. It doesn't change, even though it's set manually in bios.

Sandy Bridge 2500K/2600K Batch and Serial Numbers
I.nfraR.ed replied to Massman's topic in Sandy Bridge (P67/Z68) OC
Second chip 2500K, L148B923, #0367, 55x max multi, ~5580MHz Boots on 56x as well with lower ref clock, same maximum frequency. 57x stops on AE/blinking cursor, so probably I do everything right. This one did 50x with pll overvoltage = off, one multi up from the previous chip. Note again that I'm an AMD guy -

Oh, yes, sure . I have to give all my money from what's left of the monthly salary after paying taxes, loan and food..for one HD7970. That makes it 4 months in a row to have 4 way CF. Not mentioning the other hardware required. And after that I will be stuck with those cards, cause there are not many people who will have the money to buy them. And all this considering the fact I'm a developer that has much higher salary than the average in Bulgaria. It might look easy, but that's only if you have the initial cache to buy those cards at once. -
Sandy Bridge 2500K/2600K Batch and Serial Numbers

Finally a decent one: 2500K, L148B923, #0242 55x max multi, around 5530 max on water Going to try another one tomorrow Was hoping for at least 57x chip, but that's still much better than all chips I've tested - one 50x, several 51x and just one 53x. Too bad I don't have money to buy more than one at a time -
If anyone interested, here's my modded bios for NF7-S (1T and 2T versions included). http://dl.dropbox.com/u/30576042/NF7D_27_ED_4402_I.nfraR.ed.zip So far the best for my board Lost my self-modded bioses for AN7, but still have the 2T version flashed to the board, so it will be possible to save and mod it to 1T again.

My Abit nForce 2 boards - 2x NF7-S v.2, 2x AN7, 1x NF7 v.2 The board on left top corner is the one that did 281MHz FSB. Aside from these, the rest of the s.A stack that I have are - one of the other legendary boards Soltek SL-75FRN2, one MSI nForce2 and another Soltek SL-KT600-R.

I think it would be logical to switch shader and memory fields. GPUZ is showing the frequencies in that order "gpu/mem/shaders", so I guess many users write the first two fields according to the gpuz readings and memory frequency is going to the shaders field. Those with Ati cards or older Nvidia cards don't even have shaders, so people write gpu/mem in the first two fields. Another possible improvement could be filter the shader field (enable/disable) based on the VGA selected, but it might lead to confusion if the user enters the clocks first and selects the VGA after that.

It seems my team is gaining the same "Gather 2000 points" achievement every day. Is that normal? http://hwbot.org/team/xtreme_oc_team_bulgaria__/#MyWall
