  1. Yep, you should be considered lucky if it runs below -40C My Opteron 165 doesn't run under 0C
  2. Does it make good contact with the case? If not, I'm afrad you need to mod it with the heavy hammer... You can alternatively add another one on the outside of the RIGHT door of the case. Don't ask which one, you should figure it out yourself, otherwise it won't work. Make sure there's enough TIM applied. It will drop your side panel temperature with up to 5*C ! You can even put the panel aside from the case, the temperature of the panel will drop even further.
  3. Not that bad Yeah, I guess you wanted 8GHz, but it might happen next time.
  4. Really nice, considering the cpu. Need to get mine out and see if it works . However your GT1 seems higher than expected.
  5. Great That;'s the cpu you told me about, right?
  6. Yes, I think your files should be threads/2, but no less than 2! So in case you have Gulftown, you need to produce 6 files, not 3 like with Thuban. About the smoking hdd - keep in mind you should not copy them too fast or your hdd will get hot and eventually burn. I had blown a usb flash drive this way and lost my 8.7GHz validation It was the "cut" step. On high-end intel system you need to wait more time between copy/cut operations, because the cpu is faster than amd cpu. Makes sense, huh?
  7. Massman said it's still required, no change about this rule. You might have missunderstood his response. Преведено: "Не, изискването за линк остава. Последвалият отговор беше във връзка с оплакване, че 3DMark03 не дава линк, но с последната версия работи както трябва."
  8. All my s.A results on air are done with this cooler. Great one.
  9. In my opinion the line is very thin, but reselling a part to other overclocker is a little bit different. The main difference is that the first owner got the part from a shop or as a free sample from manufacturer/sponsor. Then he sells it to another person who may or may not submit results to hwbot. In many cases you can't even know if it had been used for benches in hwbot or not. The other situation that applies to those 2 guys is somehow different. err0r didn't buy the hardware for himself first, as I understood from the explanation, but pre-benched the cards and then sent to the intended owner. However it's not the obvious hardware sharing like "hey, give me your card, I want to bench 3DMark06 and submit a score. Then I'll give it back to you". That's why I asked if I decide someday to sell some of my cards, let's say in a local hardware forum, would it be a problem if a teammate buys it from me? What happens if some other guy buys it and after some times resells it to my teammate? Are all these hardware sharing? You could have easily hide that fact, but it shows that you're honest overclockers. Big respect for that and for all great scores. I hope err0r won't be too upset and just produce even better scores with different cards.
  10. I don't know, Chris (rofl)
  11. I've always liked your scores, it's clear that a lot of hard work is done on all of them. Winter this year seems to be generous to overclockers in Bulgaria and Romania, doesn't it?
  12. Ban all those who already commented here before me!
  13. I have a solution. Send him to Chukotka. One variant for delivery is by plane - just throw the box while in air..should do the trick.
  14. Yep. Nachtfalke and poparamiro are in the same team. Only card posted here "shared" between them is HD4870. He could easily sell him the card, submissions are not in a 3-4 days interval. The card could be different as well. So, what about selling a card to a teammate, does it count as sharing (rules don't say anything about it, or I can't find it)? Asking for a future reference...I don't have the habit to sell anything benched if it's only one from a model
  15. For 4770, submissions are made in 4 days interval, but that can't be a valid argument alone. The PCB used is reference design. Most of the parts in the first picture are covered by the cooler, so not many things to explore - no visible stickers, serial numbers and so on. But...you can compare the marks on the capacitors, they are handmade. Position and thickness on visible capacitors seem to match, but you can't tell for sure without comparing all other caps. The six caps after the three chokes are not visible and they would give a better clue, due to the marks going outside caps' borders.
  16. Nooo, I'm back to normal points. Jumped a hundred of places up the other day...
  17. No need to. I'm sure Christian Ney saved them already
  18. No bottles on the floor? Man, you can't be serious Btw, excellent idea with the cover for the opened window...
  19. Well, I have 3 more dual-cores, none of them impressive. Should be able to run higher with some of them, but not on water. You should push harder, GPU is not so important here. Any decent card will be heavily limited by the cpu. At least I think so.
  20. Thanks. The bad thing is that I've almost reached the maximum of this CPU. Highest I've run multithread on it is 3190 on dry ice - the worst colbugged cpu I've ever had.
  21. Who said I'm any near the top overclockers and who said I have Gigabyte board? *Looks around, hoping to find any Giga board...uhm, no...*
  22. It was veeery slow at the office, now it's fine at home.
  23. Cause I "can"...and most probably, because I'm very sleepy
  24. Doh, who uses s.A Gigabyte board Btw, as I'm already completely out of topic...for me ТАРАКАН means "таракан/хлебарка" in Russian/Bulgarian or "cockroach" in English, lol.
