GTX580 Matrix Extreme OC: first session at Assembly
SF3D replied to Massman's topic in Nvidia GPU Overclocking
I tested some new CPU for 3Dmark11. It is ok. http://hwbot.org/submission/2200130_sf3d_3dmark11___performance_4x_geforce_gtx_580_23316_marks?recalculate=true This was quick full run, but the cpu can do 6300 on this test. Now I need to add some VGA clocks. I would be happy If I could hit more than 1200MHz -
That list should tell, which products are mass produced and sold continuously. Now it is just random list of prototypes and one sample products. As far as I know, there is only Kingpin, me, ryba and ln2cooling.com who sell pots all the time and do it more professional way. I might be wrong of course.

GTX580 Matrix Extreme OC: first session at Assembly
SF3D replied to Massman's topic in Nvidia GPU Overclocking
Don't curse in public forums. That stuff is good for poisoning plants, but never use it with latest VGA's + Ln2 Gelid Extreme is the stuff you need and all the rest is crap. Freeze / frostbyte is last year stuff now, when we have something better. Is this card retail or press sample? If press sample, get retail. Some old cards was not completely final and there might be some issues. Retails have all done 1500+ and I have tested 5 of them. Do you have the firmware updated? If you have constant memory voltage around 2.0V you can go a lot lower in temperature. Use high memory clocks too (1300MHz+) Constant core voltage is mandatory for lazy benching. If you have those but still get artifacts, your thermal paste cracks and you loose good contact. Then you will not be able to do high clocks and will have artifacts with "low" clocks. My guess is the memory cold issues. -

GTX580 Matrix Extreme OC: first session at Assembly
SF3D replied to Massman's topic in Nvidia GPU Overclocking
Tested 4 Matrix cards during this weekend. All these new cards are doing 1550+ core and 1350MHz memory, so these will be suitable for 4-way attempts. I am not sure what went that badly wrong week a go, when elmor and I tried these cards in assembly summer 2011 event. Great cards for sure. Now I just need to get correct platform for single GPU runs. Testbed was x58 based and scores are not good. Best score was 11699. I did some ln2 pictures: Pictures in fullsize, if you like to see them closer: http://sf3d.pp.fi/images/SF3D%20OC%20pots/Ln2%20pics/typpi.png http://sf3d.pp.fi/images/SF3D%20OC%20pots/Ln2%20pics/typpi%202.png http://sf3d.pp.fi/images/SF3D%20OC%20pots/Ln2%20pics/typpi%205.png Look at the small flying bubbles I will try SLI action during next week and next weekend I will propably try 4-way, if everything goes like planned. -
OC test results of twenty (20!) RETAIL MSI GTX 580 Lightnings ...
SF3D replied to Massman's topic in General overclocking
Good thread. You guys are so lucky I hope you had a chance to select few of the best ones for Ln2 testing? It would be very cool to see same cards tested at fixed settings and then with max oc. If possible test like -100C and see how the cards are doing and then max oc. We should see some greater differences between those cards. Yes, I know you can not do it, but I was dreaming anyway. And with amount of binning we are like this nowadays -

SF3D replied to Massman's topic in Nvidia GPU Overclocking
Well, to be honest the firmware thing is a bit silly. Whoever got idea about it, should have thought twice. Card would definitely need a switch with normal firmware and oc firmware. *Hint* Then it would be perfect. -

HyperX benching: 1450MHz cas6, 1541MHz cas7 & 1563MHz cas8
SF3D replied to marmott's topic in Memory Heaven (air/extreme)
Insane clockspeeds!! Well done and congratulations guys! Kingston rocks! -
Ok, found the issue I got here. My HyperX memory is not making good cooperation with this setup.I can not get my memory as high as xoqolatl and that's why I am so far behind Well, I can live with that. I pushed the rest out of this chip. Llano is not for extreme overclocking as we all know, but still it managed to get over 5GHz. Here are the screens: CPU-Z (5278MHz 182*29) http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1921272 Now this setup can rest in some HTPC.

Haha..can someone really start to compete in IGP category.. I can not, that is for sure. But, can you provide a link to futuremark, cause I need to see which graphics driver you used? The latest hotfix 11.7 driver was slow,so you propably used the pre release driver. 3DM11 is so freaking long test with IGP

Hi! Yesterday I decided to try AMD A8-3850 platform. Here are the results with ln2. CPU-Z: CPU-Z Validator 3.1 Nice platform with 200€

ASUS GTX 580 Matrix (Platinum Edition) pictures
SF3D replied to SF3D's topic in General overclocking
Retail Matrix seems to work like they should. There was no issues with anything. Memory on this sample was not that good, but core was "ok". This was just pretesting session for Assembly Summer 2011.
