  1. How are you guys getting USB to work on XP with the latest BIOS on Impact?
  2. Most likely double-sided Samsung E-die or single-sided Hynix AFR. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  3. Unfortunately 3466 kits with 8GB DIMMs can either be single-sided B-die or double-sided E-die. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  4. My OCFM seems to have bit the dust, hooked it back up to my bench for some B-Die testing and getting Code 00 and no post. Socket is clean, tried two different known good working CPUs.
  5. The best Patriots are probably the Viper Elite 3600C16. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
  6. I'm afraid the days of finding gems in cheap OEM RAM are over. I don't know how but the G.Skills of the world seem to get all the best chips and bin them tightly.
  7. Finally got it working, had to enable Real Thread and disable HT. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I ran into that yesterday, no MPS option for 64-bit XP, only 32-bit.
  9. I can only assume the Z270 board has proper ACPI support for XP if you don't have to select MPS Multiprocessor mode. Still, other guys did manage to get XP to install in the Z170 Xpower with MPS mode, not sure what's going wrong on my setup. Will pose the question in the dedicated thread. 10. For the guys that actually got XP to install on this board...What BIOS were you using? Any special XP ISO? I can get as far as choosing MPS Multiprocessor and then it freezes at "Setup is starting Windows". It never progresses to a point where I can choose drives/partitions. 11. XP 64 eh? I've been trying XP 32-bit, maybe I should change. Still odd that it freezes at "Setup is starting Windows." Never gets to a point where I can select hard drive/partitions.
  12. Are you using a special ISO of XP? I've tried to install XP on the Z170 Xpower board and after hitting F5 and choosing MPS Multiprocessor PC, setup halts for me.
  13. OC capabilities of DDR3 MFR are well known and documented. Sam/TaPaKaH has a good DDR3 IC guide here: DDR3 IC thread Also there are numerous reviews of sticks with that particular IC, just hit up Google.
  14. Playing around with some cheap Patriot B-die on the Z170M. No wazza: Wazza: They needed 1.977v real for the wazza run, so I'm guessing 4133 C12 is out of the question.
  15. This board needs DRAM VTT setting, I know it's not in latest retail. Is it in any of the beta BIOSes?
  16. Any tips on getting the XP install to actually complete on this board? I either get freezes at the BIOs screen or restarts during setup using both USB and even CD. Sent from my SM-N930T using Tapatalk
  17. Grabbed one of these today and loaded the latest XOC BIOS, but I'm not having much success booting B-Die 3866C12 1T with 100BCLK, any tips? [EDIT] After playing around for a day, it seems it is required to boot 99BCLK and raise in Windows even with the latest OC UEFI, not a huge deal I guess. Tightening 3rds is quite a bit tricky, no matter what it doesn't look like running the TRDWR settings same as Cas will boot.
  18. Maximus VIII Gene is pretty good for memory OC (assuming you get a good board). I know mine can boot B-die at 2000MHz C12 1T.
  19. That super slow boot is annoying as all getup, is cold the only fix? Sent from my SM-N930T using Tapatalk
  20. Any tips for running B-die 4000+ on air? Sent from my SM-N930T using Tapatalk
  21. I still have a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P, tested fine earlier this year.
