Intel core I5 vpro upgrade help needed
websmile replied to explorer's topic in Intel XTU HWBOT Integration
Maybe you can google the model number of the laptop and also install a software that reads out and shows you specifications (hwinfo64 for example or sisoft sandra/Aida)of mainboard and hardware. If you can determine the socket used on mainboard and if it is possible to change the cpu, you can then check which cpus could be used for an upgrade. Personally I think that it does not make this much sense to upgrade a 5 year old notebook because of cost and possibility that it might fail because of age in nearer future, but this is something you decide yourself -
I agree, this was planned to be stated as "publicly available BIOS only" We will change the rules Edit Updated

The Official ROG OC SHOWDOWN 2016 - FORMULA SERIES ROUND 1 DISCUSSION
websmile replied to KaRtA's topic in HWBOT Competitions
Ranking at xtu is messed up, the 1/2 point issue is most likely because of bonus points. I asked if we can show extra point seperatley already, but there are technical issues that have to be dealt with before this can be done (if it ever comes, stuff like this is hard to implement) -
I adressed why it was missing, so it was not forgotten iirc, but I cannot remember anymore why it was left out exactly - too much topics to think about lately^^
-
I think Pieter will be able to answer this, but we talked about this and it made sense for me @Massman ^^
-
The point is that we excluded these from the start, Gregor^^ - Pieter did not want that much cards in it and went by graphics core from the beginning, so we would add cards now that weren´t allowed when the competition started. If there would have been a possibility to make Johan or meankeys submit without changing the playing field, it would have been OK for me for sure. But they were not allowed from start

Up for my wallet - thou shallst not resist good offer like these

The Official ROG OC SHOWDOWN 2016 - FORMULA SERIES ROUND 1 DISCUSSION
websmile replied to KaRtA's topic in HWBOT Competitions
Sorry if I was a bit harsh, but the result was indeed checked by me, I gave it to Christian Ney for a second check as well to confirm if it is possible and according to the rules. We do not handle this easy going, the guy had a delta of above 50° from idle to load, and we agreed that this is a clear sign of monitor run during benchmark and practically impossible to get at low load. We have no reason to let invalid results stay at a competition, and load shown can be bugged for several reasons, which is why we go with temp first and take this as a hint if first point gives us doubts. -

Utilization tab is not mandatory and can be bugged if you use an OS that was installed on another socket board or different cpu. The result you talk about was checked by head of moderation. We found no proof of broken rules -

The Official ROG OC SHOWDOWN 2016 - FORMULA SERIES ROUND 1 DISCUSSION
websmile replied to KaRtA's topic in HWBOT Competitions
All results checked at stage 2 and 3, raw precheck on xtu - please watch the rules, screenshots for gpupi and x265 have to obtained with integrated tool and be part of the submission file Also, mainboard tab is needed and temperature monitoring during! the run. Thanks for the attention, and have fun at benching -
Sad story, but this topic was discussed around 10 days ago at team cup thread, if we would have added all possible core from 7xxx to r2xx to r3xx this would have ended in total chaos

RealBench Challenge 2016 - Challenge I Discussion

No, it should get added again for the final result when recalculation is done. Unfortunately ranking is a bit messed up atm anyway, so this needs final confirmation and reload -
RealBench Challenge 2016 - Challenge I Discussion
websmile replied to skulstation's topic in HWBOT Competitions
I made the check on the stage, as expected with a benchmark that is new for a lot of people, some scores had to go. On some results which were at limit of cooling, I decided on favor of benchers because package on at least some cores matched minimum requirements, plus the delta to load/ max temps verfied cooling for me. I also did rule in favour of a couple of minor mistakes like cpuz non rog or mb tab partially visible as long as I could dtermine the board. Good work by the contestants in general, grats to the top 3 especially, I hope to see you all back (and maybe more guys) for round 2 -
The motto was 7xxx and rebranded rxxxx, pitcairn did not meet the pattern and it would have become too much to add all xt, pro etc mods. It is indeed no great card, so use a better one
-
Edit - messed this up with sc2 - anyway, the 7870 Pitcairn is not allowed

SC2 Stage5 won't accept my submission says wrong vid card
websmile replied to Johan45's topic in HWBOT Competitions
The issue should be solved now, Pieter added all cards by hand which was quite some work I think^^ - I added your submission to team cup and it is now listed
