Team mate Gubben's DC chips on LN2:

i7 4790k L418C134 6500 MHz max valid 2c/2t http://valid.canardpc.com/hbpt3u

cb -120, 5 Ghz 32m air ca 1.33 volt IIRC

Pentium G3258 314C011 6.2ghz max valid, strong imc over 4 GHz http://hwbot.org/submission/2620436_gubben_memory_clock_ddr3_sdram_2002.5_mhz

5 GHz 32m air around 1.43 volt

All the cred to Gubben, by now he's probably a better overclocker than me :D At least I can help him with the english... :)

When you guys say "5ghz @ 1.3v....blablabla" what other voltage settings are you using.

Last chip I had 4790k L418C221 was flat out doing 4.7 @ 1.31v XTU/Cine15, 4.8 1.4v on water but think I'm missing something in the voltages (Vrin need 1.9v+, 1.5v a no go).

Could only just pull 5.0 @ 1.49 v 2c/2t, Maximus 7 Gene.

Surely the chip couldn't have been that bad (sold and moved to another today though). Relatively new to Haswell from X79 so have to ask.

Two bad Pentium K's here.

3418C011 - 4.8GHz @ 1.45v - wPrime 32M

3418C013 - 4.6GHz @ 1.45v - wPrime 32M

Next! :D

3418C011 under phase:

5.3GHz wPrime 1024M @1.525v & 2v VCCIN - 45x cache @ 1.1v

5.3GHz will not boot into Windows 7, no matter what volts (up to 1.65v and 2.4v VCCIN) - I need to try something else I think...

what vids have those at stock on bios and on cpu-z under load on win7 ?

and what temp reach ur phase, and what temps reach the cpu's on bench?

thanks

It's the same chip, sorry about that.

The VID is 1.036v and my phase is at -45c (ish) on idle. The CPU doesn't run hot and raises the phase by about 5 - 6c during long loads.

I've constructed my den in the garage and I will be benching tomorrow to try to see if it will go any further. I reckon it will hit 5.5GHz on <1.6 volts but I need to try to get it to boot into 7. I will probably end up re-installing to see if that's the issue or not.

nice.soon i start building my phase.

on win7 u get 5ghz at less voltage than water?how much less?

thanks.

that windows 7 thing is weird,at high frequency's, it's just not working, benches start to give errors.i can boot with my 4790k to win7 5ghz@1.28v,but to make it stable it needs 1.37v,cuz will crash during benches at half of the bench.

I can boot into 7 at 5GHz with 1.45 volts, I didn't try any lower because I know it can do 4.8 on air at 1.45 and it was a random shot in the dark as to whether or not it would work, and surprisingly, it did.

Win 7 is a bitch to boot and hurts max frequency by (I think) as much as 2-300MHz in certain benches.
