Administrators websmile Posted August 30, 2016 Author Administrators Posted August 30, 2016 @GRIFF your proposal is welcome, but Frank did a good job in the balance, so I would prefer to keep the round like he designed it. 771/775 are now 10 years old as well and together with the older hardware used in other stages this is a solid concept Quote
GRIFF Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 @websmile, @mr\.paco, @Mr\.Scott With all due respect of the work you have done : why you not added a stage with the s370 ( much older than the S775 ) ? Quote
Administrators websmile Posted September 4, 2016 Author Administrators Posted September 4, 2016 The five stages are well balanced, 370 still can be part of next round. Quote
Mr.Scott Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 @websmile, @mr\.paco, @Mr\.ScottWith all due respect of the work you have done : why you not added a stage with the s370 ( much older than the S775 ) ? I did nothing except answer a few questions for mr.paco. Why no s370 you ask? Because I know team Italy and team Russia are the premier s370 benching teams. Not going to just hand you a round. Quote
havli Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Meh, socket 370 is just... slow My Xeon X5450 is ready Now it is time to look for decent P45 board as my modded GA-P35-DS3 isn't very well suited for quads OC. Quote
mr.paco Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 @websmile, @mr\.paco, @Mr\.ScottWith all due respect of the work you have done : why you not added a stage with the s370 ( much older than the S775 ) ? It was not that easy to come up with the choice of platforms to use. My goal was to open it up to as many participants as possible with out making it too hard or too easy or too complicated. Sure I could have gone with socket-8 or socket-5 that are even older than s370, point being there are more options to go with but couldnt add em all with out making it ridiculously over the top and driving the bot staff crazy . I just hope you and everyone else will participate and have fun. Quote
Noxinite Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I don't normally compete in the Old School comps, but I have 775 boards so I'll probably be in for 771 at least. Quote

Administrators websmile Posted September 5, 2016 Author Administrators Posted September 5, 2016 @Mr\.Scott you better level up S.370 stock, because it will be included in OSiBS sooner or later for sure Quote
Mr.Scott Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 @Mr\.Scott you better level up S.370 stock, because it will be included in OSiBS sooner or later for sure Oh I have the hardware and the skills to compete decently, but I also have the smarts to know that there are people on those two teams that are better than I am with it. Know and respect thy competition. Quote
Administrators websmile Posted September 7, 2016 Author Administrators Posted September 7, 2016 Very interesting stages - but you are indeed too late - please keep this at backup when we need more proposals for next round, same for Griff who also made a very interesting proposal with s370 Quote
I.nfraR.ed Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 stage 4, cinebench 03. It seems you're trying to make me get my dual MSI board out and hopefully kill my golden s.A CPUs. Ain't gonna happen Quote
