Finally did mods for M9A here + 0084 BIOS. Primary PCI-e working w/o issues and showing 16x 3.0 @16x 3.0 with last BIOS update :D

Used an arduino connector for left mod and a wire for right one.

Wouldn't that require you do de-solder a BIOS chip from the board?

I think you could use this, a SOIC8 SOP8 Flash Chip IC Test Clips Socket Adpter BIOS/24/25/93 Programmer

Thank you jjxaker. You were brave enough to test M10A Bios Rog-modules with M9A. Bios is working with 8700k and finally hyperthreading :) I flashed bios by using flashback and screwdriver to connect bios flash pads (pads surrounding covered by electrical tape). Cpu pads are connected with silver paint and isolated with electrical tape. So no soldering is needed to the motherboard.

One minor issue. If I open the bios file in UEFITool it shows error  "parseSection: PE32 image with invalid DOS signature" and it is under section 91B4D9C1-141C-4824-8D02-3C298E36EB3F  -> EE4E5898-3914-4259-9D6E-DC7BD79403CF. Can be fixed by replacing that section from M10A bios.

jjxaker, could you tell me which are the AURA-section GUIDS to replace for mod? Are there other than E98D33CD-1AEB-46B1-A4B6-0BB4CC655C26, BC327DBD-B982-4F55-9F79-056A D7E987C5 and 611F7FDD-C7C6-4CFE-8072-2155D7B25A80 to make AURA work? I made bios mod from M10A bios version 1401, but AURA not working.

It's completely unimportant, you will not experience any problems with the new RAID module...

The one that you take from Asus it is very outdated. Asus always uses out-of-date modules. The firm is such, all through the ass do.

Only:

E98D33CD-1AEB-46B1-A4B6-0BB4CC655C26 -Replace body PE Image!
BC327DBD-B982-4F55-9F79-056AD7E987C5 -Replace body PE Image!
611F7FDD-C7C6-4CFE-8072-2155D7B25A80 -Replace raw section

Also I recommend to completely remove GUID 63F23E9D-5FDA-415E-9C2A-64C4E2A6ECE8 it contains a newer version of ME FW Region 11.8x and an auto-update mechanism that can make the system startup impossible. because in newer versions of Intel blocked the launch CFL on z270/z170/H/B...

Hi, sorry, but which cpu pad you mean ? And bios flash pads on the mobo, are the same that in the “original” mod posted by Alex, is needed to solder?

Tested modding M10A bios version 1301 with jjxaker tips and got AURA working this time. Here is screen capture from the test run.

Short the following pads in order to flash the bios file :

What exactly does this give??? I do not see the logic in this procedure ...

The BIOS can be update without performing this procedure.

I think it flash rom file from usb stick as the programmer would do it. I needed this to downgrade ME.

This way I did it, but maybe flash could be done for example with afudos, if the current ME version is old enough. Before flash, I used FD44Editor to set original values for MAC, System UUID and Motherboard S/N to jjxaker Mod bios.

Who would have thought that UBF knows how to work with the ME Region...?

Why then does Asus initially block this, where it is more logical that the UBF is replaced by a programmer.

Without the UBF HW MOD it is impossible to restore the fee if electricity is turned off during the renewal of the ME Region....

he Alex@ro could not learn about bypassing the UBF and other independently, this is clearly suggested to him by someone from Asus.

1. No need to isolate cpu pads when doing the soldering on the motherboard .

2. HT works on all cpu's except the 6c ones with HT ...  8700/ 8700K,

3. Using the maximus X bios on z270 maximus IX , windows xp will not work.

? interesting statement.

I certainly did not check, but I'm sure that this is a solved issue...
