Looking for tips on how to get 4800c14+ and/or 4133 12-11 tight working on the Dark.

I don't know that I have heard anyone running 4800+C14 on the dark.

Vince did it.

Pretty much depend on ram kit and cpu imc.

nice! Glad there are more options. Have never used the board, but wasn't one I remember looking at when I was researching 4800+C14

Right now I know only two guys who actually post scores with Dark and LN2, one of these guys is me ?

and we are not 2 on dark but 3  my last score was do on it 

I got another Dark yesterday. Tried A2 TridentZ and it's rough - 4240 14-13 and 3960 12-11. Long way from 4800

A0 TridentZ are working well with 4133-4200 12-11.

I`n now waiting for my P0 9900K and hope that the memory will run even better than with 9900KS.

Dark is much more difficult in the mem than Asus. I have tried many mem-kits, not all of them you can get to 4133 or 4800.

All mem settings have to be correct, only then you can get the system started.

 

Short test with 100.1 BCLK, with 100 BCLK the time is slightly worse ?

Imo the board is fine. Alll depend on ram and imc. Good ram/imc should do 4933+ c14 gb3 air

In my experience the Dark tries to set RTLs too tight when going for 4800C14.

My mem doesn't seem to like waza at all, even at 3866 12-12

Anyone got tips for GB3?

Most of new R0 CPU´s don`t like 14-13 in SuperPi, this has nothing to do with waza, just try 14-14.

You are using almost 2,2v vdimm, are you sure itt`s necessary? Most mem-kits work with much less vdimm better

Some like it high. This one need 2.11 for gb3

This kit likes high voltage.

Also, I managed to get waza working properly. 5.53.703 with 8700k, 4133 12-11, 50/51/6/7 RTLs, one way ~1600mb waza.

I know 49/50/6/6 would get me a lot closer, but how can I get sub 5.53 with my current hardware combo?

try to set lower waza size, sometimes it can help ;).

If you are using A2 mem, try 4800 14-13 or 14-14 for super Pi

Definitely try a smaller waza. 52's are doable with 4000 12-11 even with an 8700k.

Easiest solution would be pop in a 9900k and drop half a second

Reduce max mem to 600 and try again. 

Sometimes to much available real memory is not good.

 

 

He has ramdisk   I see nothing wrong here, some tweaking in the os and a good wazza will do under 53

I know that, only he works with max mem 640, so he has a lot of available memory, which makes waza harder for him

try lower vtt, on the dark it sometimes helps

Got a better run through, still inching closer. I have not found any success with lower vtt, the mem doesn't seem to like it at all.

I'm going to look around in OS and figure out how to reduce maxmem. It's not in msconfig, at least not like in Windows 10.

If you can't change in msconfig / Boot / Advanced options then use this . . .
Control Panel =>  System =>  Advanced Startup and Recovery =>  EDIT file: =>  / maxmem=600
