That sound good, future chips could perform better than current ones under testing.

Holy thread necromancy but let's give it a try... the overclockers.com article in the OP mention a 8.3 GHz WR by TaPaKaH on Cedar Mill but I don't see any trace of this on The Bot or even in the frequency WR timeline:

Does anyone still have the validation link or any info on this, the last frequency WR on Intel?

You can find it on the CPU-Z Validator - OC World Records page:

8308.94MHz was rejected on the new CPU-Z version while the old one validated fine.

Or we could just ask @TaPaKaH.

This chip was never mine, just a random purchase by K404.
I think best of my own chips stopped around 8180-8200 ish.
