Massman Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I need help! I've had this 2600K since march now and I just can't get it to degrade. I've ran this chip under ln2, with regular air cooling, air cooling without using any mounting gear. I gave it upto 1.75V, ran Vantage with it at high speeds and high voltage ... nothing seems to help. In fact, I did a public demo last weekend and I matched the same MHz like I did 7 months ago. Is my CPU undegradable? I think I will RMA this one because it can't degrade. Everywhere on the power user forums I read that CPUs are supposed to degrade over time, but this one just doesn't have this function!! WTF Intel?! I cannot believe they would do things like this. All CPUs should have the same function. Period! Quote
_mat_ Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) Subscribed! I have the same problem with my cpu. Stuck on 5735 MHz, no matter what. I already tried using 100% Load calibration, because people kept saying, this is the solution. Edited October 3, 2011 by _mat_ Quote
Punky260 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Sometimes CPUs are more individual than humans Quote
Hampti Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 No problem massman. i give you my 2600k (reachable 5580) and you give me yours. so you have one "degradable" and i have my first "good" sandy bridge. Deal or no Deal ;-) Quote
knopflerbruce Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Get a stick of D9GTR and give it 2.3v or something like that. That should help:D Quote
Crew Turrican Posted October 3, 2011 Crew Posted October 3, 2011 give it to sam, he can destroy everything with the right tricks. Quote
stealth Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) Just call "sofo1990" to wish you the CPU to break 6.0GHz barrier and it will be dead in a few hours. stealth Edited October 3, 2011 by stealth Quote
hokiealumnus Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) I 'degraded' one with an accidental boot-up voltage of ~3.0V. It 'degraded' right into oblivion. Note to self: Don't set manual voltage to the max, leave it there, then set offset voltage to the max too. If anyone wants to know how to get ASRock boards above their 1.5'ish Vcore limit, that's how. Edited October 3, 2011 by hokiealumnus Spelling. now != how. Quote
Crew Trouffman Posted October 3, 2011 Crew Posted October 3, 2011 EPIC ! If it don't degrade, you need to put it in the freezer for 3h238minute no more no less on a ful moon night while listening to the nyan cat song and plug it back to the mainboard while singing out load one of the tunes from whitney houston someone told! IT WORKED ! if you like this you can also send me 87635784365789423652954625467958672 euros in order for e to continue creqting SPAM BOT and Send people a ton of useless email chain they will all send again to you ! Gamer Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Could be your skills got better and the cpu could do 5800mhz at first ? Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted October 3, 2011 Crew Posted October 3, 2011 so Gigabyte boards kill CPUs ? Or was it the overclocker ? Quote
Christian Ney Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) simple solution - sent to *@intel.com Approved, RMA will be not Edited October 4, 2011 by Christian Ney Quote
TaPaKaH Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 we could discuss it at length, but trust me, no matter what you or I do - CPUs will still get exchanged Quote
Morphling Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) I have the right solution. Take the CPU off the board. Then put it near to a mirror. Than, without facing the mirror you must say "Candyman" 3 times. When the big ghost with the hook apears, you just need to hide, because he will see only the CPU facing the mirror. Then he will kill the CPU. On RMA, you report the problem as "paranormal activity" There you go. Simple and easy Or then, give it 1.85v and use in air cooled for a couple of minutes on OS. Christian Ney Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) ram rma damn, bot won't let me write in caps mode Edited October 5, 2011 by Christian Ney Quote
Morphling Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 rma damn, bot won't let me write in caps mode LOL, after all the sh*t I've wrote, a litle more wouldn't hurt RMA of course But don't forget Candyman! Quote
Chiller Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 my cpu does after a few months also still exact the same clocks. no problems with keeping the clocks here under SS @ 5530Mhz Quote
