  • Intel seem to be crippling chips - I tried three 3450s and three 3550s in search of good IMC - none could do past 1100. Also tried sixteen 3570K - twelve 3218C090 and four 3219B503 - none POST at 5GH

That is fine, but there's no guarantee it will be a good LN2 chip.

I had 1.32+V chip that did exactly the same as 1.26V (6.9GHz) and two others stopped at 6.6GHz.

There are other similar examples in this thread.

you need more cold try -140/150º

I can try with more cold...:) I don't think it's so bad cpu...I've seen good score for this 3218B batch...The mboard can have problems with cold?

Splave's method:

45x106@1.25v 4c/8t run 2x Spi32m

now will test for 5ghz :)

100x50 4c/8t @1.285v spi32m stable :)

Heard 1.23 chip cant do more than 6600, seems old trick is not work anymore ?

out of 1.23 1.24 1.25 and 1.28 chips

1.23 = 6.73ghz

1.24 = 6.65ghz

1.25 = 6.45ghz

1.28 = 6.37ghz

Seems like some batches just stop scaling with volts earlier. the 1.23 6.73ghz chip can do 6.58 at 1.68v xD but then eats volts up to 6.73ghz

I have a 3218B976 3770K batch and with ASUS MVG I have some problems..:)

With single stage I reach 5.4 GHZ with 1.675V benchable in 3D and with Ln2 I reach only 5.8 GHZ 2c/2t @ 1.75V around -90°, -100°. If I up the temperature more than -115°, -120° and set 5.9, 6.0 GHZ I enter to windows but the system crash If I launch a benchmark. It's a limit of cpu?

have same batch .

can do 5 ghz 4/8 whit 1.255 vcore

and 6.2 whit 1.75 vcore on dice

can boot 6100 whit 1.68 an of caurse 32m stable

6300 on 2 cores 1.8 1m stable also on dice . hope it scales on voltage and cold of course

to compare whit my 3218c055 that dos 6650 32m 4/8 cores

will only 5.935 on dice whit 1.77 more vcore then it dont boot at all

will have a malay batch L211b472 tommorow that dos 5 ghz 1.26 playing stable on msi gd45

Have you try my same batch with LN2 ? I have problems with temperature higher than -110°. For 6.2GHZ 4c/8t how much v.core with DICE your sample? And the other settings in bios that you use ? Thanks..:)

But I think my sample don't reach theese frequecy...

Thank You Very Much!

It's so hard to find alot of info on the web about these particular chips, and when one does it's not that detailed, I really appreciate the time and energy everyone has put into finding "better" chips due to Intel's oversight, and for offering a possible third solution to the TIM problem so that someone might not have to attempt lapping or delidding on such a high end/high priced product.

I know that batches that test to be "good" only raises the chance that the proc might be able to achieve more and that this isn't guaranteed.

Can anyone please tell me what they have seen from 3770K L220B294 and if this might be a possible "good" batch.

Again Thank You Very Much and keep up the good work!

Hey man! and welcome.

best way to guess if its a good chip is by seeing what it needs for 5ghz

the guideline is:

5ghz at 1.25v is in some cases 6.8 - 6.9 chip

5ghz at 1.3 - 1.35 is anything from 6.5 to 6.7+

Okay so I have "magic" hand

9 CPUs:

1x Malay L225B @ 6.4-6.5 GHz 3DMark 03/05 4 cores

1x Malay L224C @ 6.7 GHz CPU-Z 1 core

1x Costa Rica 3224B @ 6.3 GHz CPU-Z 4 cores

1x Costa Rica 3224B @ 6.6 GHz CPU-Z 4 cores

1x Costa Rica 3230B @ IMC sucks, can't boot 2520 mem, CB - 175*C

1x Costa Rica 3230B @ 6.4 GHz CPU-Z 4 cores

1x Costa Rica 3230B @ 6.3 GHz CPU-Z 4 cores

1x Costa Rica 3230B @ 6.4 GHz CPU-Z 4 cores

1x Costa Rica 3230B @ 6.2 GHz CPU-Z 4 cores
