Did anyone already kill an Ivy Bridge CPU? At this weekend's EOS event two died (not mine). I've been booting up at 1.92V with several chips and never saw anything close to death.

So, I'm wondering: have you guys killed Ivys already? And if yes - how?

MY ES 3770K died at 5GHz Linx run on watercooling with 1.5V :) I am hardcore overclocker!

No issues on Ln2 1.9V+ runs, so that is weird death for real.

Killed mine, due to my stupidity. Left the Power on, after a disappointing session. Currently soaking in Rice for the last few days....Maybe will test out today.

But ofcourse Intel can not do anything about the above stupidity.

I wrote it: one my cpu degradated or something like that, no booting OS at default voltage(auto or manaul doesn't really matter) but it still alive )))

Yes I have two that died both retails. One for some reason the Clear CMOS button didnt work and it booted up at 1.92v on air. The other one seems to have stopped detecting memory.

Seems like I killed HTT on Ivy Bridge.

No way I can do Wprime with this cpu 4C/8T.

Instant BSOD when trying.

Seems like the hyperthreading is borked, Wprime with 4C/4T is working ok.

Same problem as the post above :(

impressive :D lol sorry to hear that. I am impressed you were able to killt he HT, gamers around the world commend your actions lol. sorry haha I am in a j/k mood.

As long as all cores are working ok, I will not rma it.

Or they have to send me a better one :)

I had one just slowly stop posting first day I bought it. Nothing hard on it just basic getting to know the BIOS and stopped posting.

New one runs great though. Oh, 3770K.

My CPU just died :(

Srsly no idea why? 4,2 GHz, 1,2 Volt on air. Wanted to clock to 1,4 Volt 4,8GHz with GTL on GIGABYTE UD3H and it froze. Now CPU is dead.

WTF

that's sucks

is that the one you popped the ihs off of ?

I already changed the paste on mine just been testing on air already tryed 1.4v 4.8 wprime it droped temps from 90c+ to under 80c

hope I get to bench on ln2 tonight xD

Well now I'm thinking about benching Sandy again tomorrow.... My 2 Ivys should be safe in their boxes :D

Very sad for you all, especially for you SoF :( That situation sucks hard...

Sucks to have hardware die when not abusing :(

Yea that was the chopped one... That sucks pretty hard. Was a realy good CPU.

I'm curious, can you do the new RMA thing that Intel announced recently with that chip?
