HWBOT World Tour

Discuss the World Tour events and stops

  1. Started by Massman,

Hello everyone! I received some questions from people asking what the plan is for Computex this year. This week we had conversations with Taitra, G.SKILL and technikPR regarding the general outline of the activities. Unlike last year we will not host a large scale area at Nangang, primarily because there are no major hardware launches around that time. The weekend prior to Computex, from Saturday May 27 until Monday May 29 we have a room in the Xinyi/101 area for a general OC gathering with all the nitrogen you can wish for. During Computex week we'll spend most of the time at the G.SKILL booth as the G.SKILL OC World Cup 2017 is the official World Championship Q…

  2. Started by Massman,

Hey guys, I just wanted to write a quick message on the new site we prepared for the World Tour information. Firstly, here's the link: Home | HWBOT World Tour. We want to improve the World Tour next year and along with additional events, we also wanted a nicer site than just a single page to share all the information of past and future events. We already added as much information as possible from the previous events, including our very first event in Taiwan in 2014 called the HWBOT OC Anniversary Gathering. We're adding the general information, aftermovies and of course event pictures. After wrapping up the Championship last weekend, I'm also able to do a sma…

  3. More World Championship information - looking forward to find out who qualifies for South Africa, Europe and North America!

  4. The crew is back from Moscow after an intense night at the Performance Matters event, just quick enough to drop you the replays of the Multicore Madness Moscow with Wizerty, Benchbros and Smoke. What a night ! It started with a discussion between OverClocking-TV's host @Trouffman*and two special guests co-host : The one and only crazy-haired Buildzoid*and the equally opposite crazy-bearded Dr. Beardasaurus aka Houston. You were in numbers to join the live and the different chat (Twitch OCTV Channel & OCTV Facebook Page) and follow the expert commentaries, revisiting the over the past 17 years and used. Wizerty, best overclocker in France, focuse…

  5. Hi All, As you know from another thread: the event in China was postponed from November to April next year. This means we would have one less World Tour event than planned. A couple of APAC overclockers reached out and asked if we were going to host a replacement event in order to have a chance to qualify for the OCWC in December. So, We are currently looking to host a replacement event in Taipei in the weekend of October 22-23. We are working as fast as possible to confirm the plan and will update this thread in case it all goes through. Just wanted to give a quick heads-up

  6. Started by Massman,

I already spoke with some people about the announcement that GC Play in China has been moved to 2018. This means that the event will not be included in the 2017 World Tour. We are looking for a replacement event in APAC region for the OCWC Qualifier. To be updated.

  7. Hi Guys. Unfortunately the HWBOT World Tour will not be attending the PAX Seattle event early next month. Despite our best efforts, logistical and financial constraints mean that it's not going to happen. http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=170530&page=2 The good news is that we intend to maintain our commitment to having two World Tour events in North America in 2017. Right now we are doing our utmost to attend DreamHack in Montreal on Sept 8th - 10th. Plans are not finalized yet, but we will confirm more details in the next week or so. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

  8. Started by Massman,

Hey Guys, Just a quick message to let you know we're working on making sure the championship qualifiers will be fair at every event. With the buffer of memory we have from last year, we will be able to supply everyone at a qualifier with the same memory kit. So special bins won't be effective during the qualifiers unless a memory vendor partners up for a specific event. We are also working on a large enough pool of CPUs that we can pre-bin to ensure the CPUs are as closely matched as possible. The exact details are still in the works, but hopefully we can also provide CPUs as prizes for each event. To be continued!

  9. Hey Guys, I'm sure you are all excited to find out more about the World Tour 2017 plan. While we are still working hard to finalize the plan for next year, one event you can put in your agenda: CES 2017. We are planning for a special activity the day prior to the kick-off at CES which runs from January 5 until January 8. On the 5th and 6th we will be at the GIGABYTE suite for the World Tour gathering and first stop of the World Series competition. We are working around the clock to get all the information and pages up and running. I hope we'll get the ticketing/reservation pages up and running by early next week. If you don't know what to do yet in the fi…

Hey guys, So as you all know already, we'll be hosting the World Tour at Nangang 4th Floor this year. The event includes both extreme and amateur overclocking. We're still finalizing all the details for the competition, but I know that many of you are looking to plan out the Computex week so I want to give you the information as soon as possible. The World Series at Computex is slightly different from the other World Tour events since we have 5 days of overclocking. The structure is as follows: May 31: 3h qualifier + top-2 1vs1 June 1: 3h qualifier + top-2 1vs1 June 2: 3h qualifier + top-2 1vs1 June 3: 3h qualifier + top-2 1vs1 June 4: semi-, bronze and gra…
