Benchmark software

If there is a 220mb/s limit on the XP load test, why are software ramdrives still illegal? This makes no sense to me. The rule started before anything could even get close to that number so it made sense. Now though with SSDs having to be limited to get under the cap, why are software ramdisks still illegal?

Hi all i just try to validate my maxxmem with Geil PC8500 @ 640Mhz (i know it's not good but i can't do better for now ) but in the HWBOT valid i put every information on and still not validate i have this message : Please enter your memory type. A known memory type is required for this benchmark. it's the first time i try to valid this kind of bench so i apologize if i disturb you for "nothing" What cn i do ? Thanks for reading

so yea I cant compete in sisoft sandra since I switched to i7 dude to 2k7 causing instant shut downs. I updated sandra and now it works, but cant compete still because its not 2k7. is this ever going to be changed to the latest sandra revision??

Hey Guys, It's been 2 days that I have battled this problem and I have come to a dead end. I pretty much tried EVERYTHING but a new cpu (Fresh install of all Oses, dif. psu, dif. ram, dif. vga cards etc, dif. versions direcpll, deleting direcpll etc). Here's the error (no mater in which windows version or vid. card I use): This same OS runs Vantage fine... Any ideas?

Is it possible to review the situation about pifast.? There is no verification links or checksum to check for cheating. But I've found a simple way to fool it and I wouldn't be suprised if some of those super efficiant runs were done using this. When running 3dmark3 do you run HT on or off on the i7's? I have a 920 and its running very slow on this i think. I run the 920 at 4.65GHz and only get mid 15000's for points. Im running a gtx295 with the core at 750 and the shader clock at at 1634 and the mem at 1265. Would 15000 points right for this system?

I am working on a version of wPrime that uses the 1.55 engine and all the features of 2.xx (good hardware detection, detecting thread count on vista, better score management, score submission, etc). I was thinking. When I'm benching superpi 1M or Pifast on a heavily overclocked Pentium 3, it takes between 1 and 3 minutes to get the job done. This is quite some time to keep your OC stable. But when benching on a new i5 670 LN2 cooled system, these times go down to as little as a few seconds. This way the record is more getting the allure of a suicide screenshot than a real benchmark Of course, there are still superpi 32M and wPrime1024M available, which helps a lot. I have Intel 915GM graficcard in my netbook and i could not submit my benchmark score because there is not this card in hwbot database,how i can submit about this model,

I know that for benching you should try to have the best hardware and cooling. But I hate it how most benchmarks are extremely Intel biased. I'm a big AMD fanboy which why I didn't get Intel but I just got 5770 CF and somebody gets 5000 more 3dmark06 points than me with no GPU overclock because then have an i7.

I have a big problem. I spent 2 days and 10 hours trying to beat a score of my team mates in 3mb L2 cache category. After I broke their record, my team mates acused me of cheating because i'm not an old bencher. Using win 7 x64, installed windows encoder 9. pcmark still pops up a message saying you have to have it installed to work properly. Anyone else run into this problem ?

I have a small program I wrote that can be used as a benchmarking app, but it takes a few hours to run (WR is 3 hours 12 mins, typical system run on an un-overclocked box is about 5 hours). How does one go about submitting a bench result for the top twenty when you have no internet access after completion of the benchmark? PCI frequency is so high it knocks the lan ports out until it is rebooted. With a "save as" file, what are the steps to get it submitted and verified?
