  1. Looks like somebody found out a way to get more than one card after all. Great run!
  2. BD vs. floating point multi-threaded apps also = lose. Unfortunately that pretty much means anything used on hwbot. For the bot they're good for frequency and HTPP. Anything else on the bot, they're just bad. Sure are a lot more FUN to bench than Intel though. Full pot for hours on end FTW. :nana:
  3. It's also quite annoying when you spam other sites' Facebook pages with your complaining. Since we're posting emails, this was in my inbox today: That was, of course, deleted. Not only do you make no sense (um...hello? HWBot gets paid by Gigabyte, MSI and G.Skill, Intel & AMD are the only two companies that make CPUs, and HWBot gives things away as part of its competitions rather than forwarding people to someone else's place to 'like' them for the chance...), you take your rant and post it on others' facebook pages. Poor form dude, poor form. Please exclude our facebook page from your future notifications as well.
  4. Well that was fast. They're trying to get details on the reported problem but none of the cards they have on-hand have the problem and they've received no user reports either.
  5. It will be one of the first things I test, rest assured. FWIW, I shot a quick email to ASUS USA so they could have a look at it. Don't know if they'll reply as it doesn't affect us directly, but they at least know about it now.
  6. Good to know, thanks MM. We're supposed to have one of the 7970 DirectCU II's on the way soon. I normally test on a bench too. Glad you posted this; I'll be sure to test it in a case as well! One thing that bothers me about that link: "Asus was one of the first manufacturers to send us a Radeon HD 7950 semi-custom, that is to say, based on a reference PCB (but manufactured in its own factories) and equipped with a cooling system alternative, the famous brand DirectCU II." Their photos aren't loading for me, but the 7970 above is decidedly NOT a reference design. Did they really just slap a cooler on the reference 7950 for that DirectCU II version?
  7. Gunslinger... Step 1: Go here and print invoices from this post and this post. Step 2: Take them to your local Airgas branch. Step 3: ...... Step 4: Profit!
  8. Dave, thou knowest not thy own site. It's linked from the approved/meh/fail image in every review as well as from the 'Welcome to Overclockers.com' page. TheOverclocker posted about this at KPC forums a while ago; this was my response (emphasis added): Heh, not a necro when it's linked from today's post. We're just posting in the wrong thread.
  9. You should see the thread in our team's forum. SebaS is going to drive himself insane unless he finds this thing. He has found a couple thousand here, a couple thousand there but he isn't satisfied until he finds THE tweak. He's a PCM05 tweakaholic. Go SebaS!!
  10. They'll add it to the list (just poking fun with this one...I'm told by reliable sources that revised, cohesive rules are being worked on).
  11. Massman is spot on - I think there has been enough change to last a long time here. Let's leave the algorithm alone for a little while please! As far as: In my understanding, yes, you can do that. The key to avoiding hardware sharing is that only one of the people submit to the shared category. i.e. Say you have one 7970 and a teammate has two 7970s. You could submit 1x with yours and he/she could submit 2x with his. Then either you could let him/her borrow your card to submit for 3x - or vise versa. The key is that only ONE of you may submit the 3x scores. You can't borrow his/hers to submit 3x and then give all three to him/her to do the same thing.
  12. Is it just me or did that come out of left field?
  13. Definitely enjoyed it, thanks for the opportunity to review it. Giraffe pot was heavy and did a good job, but using the F1EE at IMOG's place spoiled me. The experience with my pot after that just wasn't the same. The F1 Dark brought that feeling back and makes for fun, hassle-free, well controlled benching sessions.
  14. You've already done it, you just don't know it. As I understand it, the process is torching a pot from low temp, to high, then dropping it again. . Neuromancer pointed me to that to show the difference. ~.5°/sec. vs. ~1.5°/sec.
  15. I can do the hold at -15 to match this review and judge how it feels vs. the f1 dark. My chip bugs out below -25. Unfortunately I can't repeat ANYTHING on that BD CPU. I think you were there when it went out in its blaze of glory.
  16. Thanks for sharing! I responded to SF3D's post with my email. If he wants an Inflection reviewed vs. the F1 Dark, I'm more than happy to accommodate him. I don't play favorites.
  17. Well, don't keep us in suspense...which one?? I don't necessarily want fast reaction though. Perhaps within reason, but my main goal with CB chips like that is stable temps. There's definitely a balance to be had. i.e. You don't want to be managing a cold bug on a Koolance pot. That's fast, but doesn't hold worth a darn.
  18. No problem. IMHO, which is just one little guy's opinion, if you already have an F1EE with the proper mounting kit you need, keep it and be happy. Unless you just want something a bit prettier to look at.
  19. No worries man, I'm always happy to address any questions or concerns people have about my reviews. If you don't have people watching you and commenting on what should have been better, you don't improve.
