No1Spank
I have posted this question a couple of times elsewhere on the forum as I get my 1700X tomorrow and don't want to have to re bench any benchmarks if I need to do them on Windows 7. Is the Ryzen in the same class as Skylake & Kaby Lake in terms on benchmark results being valid on Windows 10? Thanks
Strong Island
I have posted this question a couple of times elsewhere on the forum as I get my 1700X tomorrow and don't want to have to re bench any benchmarks if I need to do them on Windows 7. Is the Ryzen in the same class as Skylake & Kaby Lake in terms on benchmark results being valid on Windows 10? Thanks There was a post saying it is affected by the RTC bug so it is in the same class as everything other than skylake and kabylake. But there are some benches that are ok, like 3dmark suite, gpupi and a few others.
No1Spank
Thanks for the quick reply, I'll run windows 7 at least for benching.
Lio40
Why is kabylake ok and zen is not? The cpu officially only supports win 10. And now all my benches are deleted! Is there no way to make it work with win 10?
Crew Strunkenbold Posted March 21, 2017 Crew Share Posted March 21, 2017 Ask AMD to fix their bugs. It is really annoying that this happend but its not about hwbot it is AMD who has to deliver.

unityofsaints
You can bench things like GPUpi for CPU and x265 on Windows 8 and above with realtime clock enabled.
No1Spank
I always bench Kaby Lake with Windows 7 now anyway as it gives better results most of the time. You don't need chipset drivers for most motherboards if you just want to run benches either, I don't bother loading them in anymore.
mickulty
How does this apply to boards without bclk tuning, anyway? The vast majority of ryzen boards (including all B350-based boards) are locked to 100mhz bclk so would they be fine as long as a cpu-z motherboard tab is present? Administrators websmile Posted January 21, 2018 Administrators Share Posted January 21, 2018 No - the problem is deeper, there are articles on the internet that propose with BIOS updates bclk tuning might be unlocked on boards without external pll chip and msi even released beta Bioses in the past. In fact AMD does not support Hwbot at all if I am not mistaken, including no deeper information on stuff like this and similar. We will have to stay with win7 except for the benchmarks with integrated timer and 3Dmarks with link and sysinfo enabled

Administrators websmile Posted April 19, 2018 Administrators Share Posted April 19, 2018 This is not funny but pathetic, AMD practically ends the opportunity to bench lots of chips by simply not caring. The fact these do not support win7 is known for weeks btw...

unityofsaints
Win 7 works fine, what's the big deal? You can even install chipset drivers or bench 3D if you feel like it.
speed.fastest
No, Ryzen APU no support Windows 7, you will get blue screen.
