Moose83 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 You dont need powertoys to improve video comp! You can easily change this in the registry with more power than powertoys;) Quote

Moose83 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 (edited) But we have to discuss TE and WPR! There are many scores with those tweaks. Including in the wrapper would save this scores;) And new submits score with the same tweaks inside the wrapper. Edited October 3, 2012 by Moose83 Quote
Mikecdm Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 If the wrapper makes it so that the bench is ran 100% legit and new scores don't come close to the scores that we are seeing, what does that say? If these recent scores are legit, then they should be able to be duplicated or at the very least, come very close. Quote
Massman Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Perhaps not the least controversial idea here, but ... ... everyone who loves the PCMark05 benchmark because of all the tweaking should consider making the tweaks public. When everyone knows the tweaks, people get interested again and will start benching again. Now, with undisclosed tweaks, a first attempt is like 75% lower than the top score. And because all this tweaking requires quite a bit of software knowhow it's very discouraging. Quote
Aristidis Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I have a long time to talk about Pcmark and playing too, but i think that here we are not talking about tweaks. For examble this bug with Amd for me it's not legal as it isn't for all other benchmarks. Quote
Moose83 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Yeah, im not the only one that calls it bug:) Quote
knopflerbruce Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Well, an you use the text edit tweak to gain a similar raise in scores in a different benchmark? no? Must be bug then Quote
Stelaras Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Submission is not an issue . There are ways to bypass it .The question is if it's legit to do such thing ... Or it doesn't matter how you do it ? So , submittion link is OK . I get 42000 at 4.6Ghz . http://www.3dmark.com/pcm05/3172460 Also , web browsing seems to be getting at nice levels . Quote
Moose83 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I mean complete run with Audio and orb Link;) Quote
Stelaras Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Yes . It's not an issue at all . I'll upload a full score in a few minutes . Quote
Moose83 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 You have to work a bit harder;) Here is my new tweak with improved WPR, TW and Audio Comp;) Sempron Singlecore with only 3,6GHz... http://www.3dmark.com/pcm05/3172478 Quote
Stelaras Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) Here ... http://www.hwbot.org/submission/2318207_stelaras_pcmark_2005_core_i7_3770k_63292_marks Edited October 4, 2012 by Stelaras Quote
Moose83 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 With TW tweak and ATI you get 90k easy;) But your WPR is not good, with this cpu you should have easily 180pages+. Quote
Stelaras Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I know it . I just made a run to show that audio is not an issue for validation . I haven't done ANYTHING about transparent , general usage and memory . Cpu is at only 4500Mhz . I'm also still with Iexplorer . No chrome or anything else . One of these days i'll prepare a new OS and play at 6+Ghz ... Quote
Moose83 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Hey, no Browser Change! 180pages+ can be done with IE;) I did 184pages on i7 920 with IE9. Quote
Stelaras Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Hey, no Browser Change! 180pages+ can be done with IE;) I did 184pages on i7 920 with IE9. That's nice to know. I guess i should make a run without iexplorer default settings and antivirus + drivers . It's my daily OS ... Quote
Moose83 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 With chrome its easy to get about 300+...but changing browser not allowed;) But with audio comp still not shure...allowed when its validated, i dont know... Quote

And then the "real tweakers" came out and put me back in the corner. I have spent hundreds of hours (not an exaggeration) trying to figure out just one of the tweaks (TE) and have not even managed to get it to budge. This whole tweaking is fun and I really like PCM05 a lot (bugged and meaningless as it is as of now), but there comes a time when one gets tired of banging one's head against the wall and not making it through to the other side. Not sure why changing browsers will boost WPR since we both know what the |super|tweak does. Heck, browser change not allowed? ieframe hack time =)) Quote
zeneffect Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I thought replacing the test files is not allowed... even when they are just temporary... and yet, text edit and web render shoots through the roof all of a sudden by everybody. Quote
rsnubje Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Ye I thought we were not allowed to change anything of the benchmark itself and yet they are changing audio files etc. How bout that? Let's program 3Dmark 11 back to DX9... Quote
Moose83 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Not all change audio files! Try it by your own, replace them and you get no ORB Link;) Quote
