i cant beleive this, here we have mat and others trying to and indeed endeavouring to make BOT a safer and better place to bench in with calculated changes for the better for ALL and we then have the other that come up with all the excuses under the sun as to the negativities of it all with no basis or facts of their ridiculous baseless statements do you people walk around in life all day with your heads up your arses , or were you just born that way ??

yes mat, programming skills arent everyones everyday forte are they, so hopefully it will help dampen the enthusiasm for them to try it and just carry on and worry about the bench

geez marco, didnt know you cared so much, , i dont care what people think of me 1 iota, i speak my mind as i see it regardless of the person or the issue theres always going to be " cheats " that want to try beat the system, to try get that advantage over whomever in whatever benchmark i see my propsal as a positive way to help bot keep funded and have more available resources to be able to do with for things like the benchmate project matty is working on

my approach to that is this go down your local club or what ever and say to them i want to br in your club , free, have all the options of what the club offers, then in 6 mths or so ill make up my mind whether ill join up, coz thats exactly what BOT is now, recieves anyone and theyre a member, this is quite a not so common hobby ill call it, which quite soon leads into an obsession, maybe there could me a reduced associate member fee $5, for the newbies coming along to see whether or not they want to be involved in our sport to give them some time (6 mths) to think if over if this is for them if not , theyve lost $5 , big deal, lose a stick of ram is worth way more, as theyll soon learn if they get into it

coz its like this, all these people are here for the love of overclocking, they donate their family and home time for here , for us, without pay, competitons organised, implemented, modded, controlled and all the follow up with it, some are on a retainer of some sort yes, but the others do it for gratis, once again all for "US", money is generated id suspect by sponsorships, donated etc, but not something that can be relied on, a party could pull out at the minute then that money is no longer, competitons organised, implemented, modded, controlled and all the follow up with it im not saying what ive propsed in prior years is fool proof, but i reckon its a damn good start to a healthy $ wise bot if you join bot you pay a yearly fee of $10, you have no control, and no say other than to ask a mod or any admin why this decision was made . if you put a fair and honest case against their decision im sure some proper agreement between both would arrive, thats just a membership fee like they do everywhere in the world to join "whatever" it is club and those funds are put forth to make the "whatever" club it is bigger and better for all why should be this different , same principle , different reason for the type of "club" so to speak you pay for the priveldge to be a member and be a part of building the "club" that you enjoy coming to !!

i proposed years ago that every active member pay a $10 yearly fee to be a member and use bot , also to help the bank for wages for people that deserve it, also to help with development of bot etc etc etc to keep bot in the black so to speak, but every time ive mentioned it it falls on deaf ears

what spave said that video is not in my opinion of how it should be done, all thats gunna happen there is paste is going to spew out everywhere, total waste of paste, theres enough paste there to do a cpu and gpu and the method is the same for both, a nice little dob of good quality paste and spread it, nice flat clean pot or cooler surfaces, the heat generated will do the rest for you

that depends on your ambient temperature at the time, a high ambient , sure you "could" run into this issue, all that has to be wiped is the pot base, if your board is set ready to go, you apply the paste to cpu , then straight from the freezer , wiped pot base and mount the pot i see no reason for condensation have the time to form , what a couple of minutes at most to mount and set the pot , boot then apply ln2, it will work

when you install it make sure the activate windows box is unchecked, also that install will only last 1 month from the installation, then you have to re install it again

just a thought or suggestion why cant you have your pot insulated and ready to mount, then whack it in the freezer for an hour or so, that should take it to -10c at least, my freezer goes to -20c easily, have your system all ready prior to that for boot up , wipe the bottom clean, paste the cpu , fit the pot ,boot then ln2, the pot has enough residual cold in it for the cpu to draw on so no harm will come to it on boot up

i would have thought the bloke i bought this off would have chimed in by now to try help with this issue , he was on here the other day, after i spoke with him about it, so at a good guess i reckon hes read the thread so far his bot name, i will with hold for now , and ive been in pm with him about the issues but seems , we got so far with it and now no more replies back from him with it pretty sad really ,when im not or never have asked for any compensation, all i want is the truth, and some help with the issues that came with the board other than how terra has tried to help me with it for which i thank him for his input
