A bunch of SSD drives bundled with some fancy ARECA controller card or a bunch of GTX580/HD6990 are mainstream? Wow!

Stage VI says 1/2/4/6/8 CPU's, so that mean we can use servers with multiple sockets in this stage?

Stage VI requires you to run 1 score with a 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8xCPU (cores). How you accomplish this is upto you. You can:

- run an eight-core server CPU

- unlock a dual core to quad core

- run a dual quad core setup

- ...

(ps: 8xCPU does not mean you need to run a setup with 8 CPUs)

And what is considered as a quad core? X4 955 and 2500K or 2600K? Maybe three of them. I see "effective cores", but can't assimilate that. Same for X1, X2 and X6.

Unlocking is allowed, but what about switching off cores? I guess not.

Same rules count as in the normal rankings.

- X4 955 = quad core

- 2500K = quad core

- 2600K = quad core

And Bulldozer counts as 8-core? What about disabling cores for Stage VI?

Bulldozer FX-8150 is an 8-core.

Disabling cores is not allowed in the normal rankings so also not allowed in the Country Cup.

By mainstream I meant something different from what you understood. I see less skill needed for this competion, if you have the hardware needed or the money to buy it -> you're set :)

The PCMark7 stage is probably the one which requires the most $$ to compete (as you need 3 scores). However, I think you can work around that by having a team session and combine the SSDs you have. That's just team work.

The AMD stage also requires some $$, but you only need one score per country. Surely someone in the country has 3 or 4 cards to run it with.

shouldn't the scoring be the other way around - 10pts for the stage where only one man's effort is needed and 25pts for five ?

The idea behind giving more points to stages which require less people is that it's not always easy to find 5 people with 'highly competitive' scores. So, we put more stress on the stages for which you need less quantity and more quality scores.

Hi all!

PJ, can you tell me - we need 5 different dualcore CPUs - e.g. Wolfdale + Conroe + Allendale + Regor + Callisto - or we need - E8600 + E8500 + E6850 + Phenom II X2 555 + Phenom II X2 560?

For the "Dual Core UCBench2011"-stage, you need 5 scores on 5 different setups with the setup defined by the cpu core.

So, Wolfdale + Conroe + Allendale + Regor + Callisto would be allowed.

is it the country you are, or country of team ?

can somebody also submit for another country?

You live in Belgium don't you ?

You defend our country don't you ?

So submit for Belgium ;)

Matose - stop giving people false hope :)

We have the hardware and the "mainstream" level is not an issue, you can never have ideeal rules. The only issue is if we have the time and if we want to do this 3rd time in a row. After all, the we proved our point twice, maybe it is time for others to win too :)

lol :D

Different hardware,so, can I use the same mobo for each stage? or just one mobo for each stage.
