EDIT:

For the upcoming Intel Z77 platform and processors, memory manufacturers will have to update their portfolio in order to provide certified memory that match Intel new specs and performance. Here are the new high end modules from G.SKill - the Trident X - that come with a completely new design and very high frequencies. Indeed the lowest frequency for this new series is no less than 2400 MHz!

Hope average Ivy retail's imc can scale to 2800+...then ram pot usage with binned old psc/bbse will soar :)

you're on the right track :D

these air cooled gskill kits are actually really good every day benching sticks. Effortless clocking to big clocks and reasonable timings that are pretty decent if you dont want to freeze dimm slots :)

be very careful with your DIMM slot insulation, too much grease and you will lose clocks, too little and you will lose slots :P

we need a proper RAM subzero pot (one that does NOT require taking off heat-spreaders and one that actually has some sort of cooling ability on sides of heat-spreaders rather than the top)

who'll figure it out first :D

Quad-channel DDR3-2800 ? ... I'd want to see a s2011 platform capable of that for 24/7 operation :D

If we're talking about benching, a lot depends on whether 1400/11-13-13 is faster than, say 1200/7-11-7 or not. If higher memfreq is the way to go, then we'll have to buy these gay Samsung kits and/or have to find ways for BBSE/PSC/Hypers to get there. If not, 1200-1300MHz will be your typical benching range, in which case I'd want to see 7-11-7 (PSC) being put up against 8-8-7 (Hypers) :)
