I.nfraR.ed
Tested HD3870 yesterday and the cpu worked flawlessly full pot through 03, 05, 06, aquamark. For example - 03 Batch is 3218B987. 2 cores, 4 cores, 4c/8t - no problem. But had strange issues with my first one, however not that bad, but still from certain point I couldn't finish a single run with some cards. Haven't tried with PCI-E 1.1. l0ud_sil3nc3
Any good batches that it's possible to buy? We're putting emphasis on voltage for 5GHz and IMC...... I'd like to see binning info on what chips can do with PCI-E controller. 3213B472 CR... PCI-E problems start at -65. By "useful" temperatures, forced to PCI-E 1.1, else crash during windows load. L212B308. No problems that I remember Damaged chip? Have you verified this behavior on another board?
K404
I'll be testing on another board within the next week or two. If the behaviour is a function of temperature, can that be classed as damage?

Andrix85
Hi boys, I have a question for you: I test two 3570K with the same batch: L220B244 MALAY with STOCK INTEL AIR COOLER and PHASE CHANGE. The first one can do 4.5GHZ @ 1.265V, 4.6GHZ @ 1.340V, 4.7GHZ @ 1.365V 4C/4T AIR COOLED 84° MAX and 5.4GHZ @ 1.675V with S.S. -40° LOAD. The second cpu can do 4.5GHZ @ 1.235V, 4.6GHZ @ 1.34V, 4.7GHZ @ 1.365V 4C/4T AIR COOLED 84° MAX and 5.4GHZ @ 1.645 with S.S. -40° LOAD. My question is: the two cpus are very similar, but the second needs less voltage for 4.5GHZ and 5.4GHZ. It is the best for you? I would like to try it with LN2, but I'm unsure between the two. Thanks
TaPaKaH
neither of your chips seems actually good, but if you have only two to select from - I'd keep the second

Andrix85
what about imc IMC are the same...I have a TRANSCEND KIT AXERAM TX1600KLU-4GK with PSC and they can do 2600MHZ CAS 10-12-10-28 1T @ 1.65V. For higher frequencies I have 55 error code but I think it's the limit of the ram. It's 1000 MHZ oc for the 1600 MHZ kit ram. I should try with other ram. I.nfraR.ed
5 3770K chips 3218Bxxxx tested on LN2 out of 25. 3 max clocks ~6.9GHz on one core, 2 - 6.6GHz All of them can handle 1.9V or higher. Various voltage for 5GHz on air, but in the 1.28 - 1.32V range for the tested 5 chips. Some cpus from this batch didn't even boot at 5GHz on air, however I tested only 4 on LN2 myself. K404
Heh...if you have access to 3218B chips, buy all the chips that do 5GHz @ <1.37v, you have a guaranteed market
I.nfraR.ed
Unfortunately I don't have that much money. Lowest price here is around 310euro, going up to 330-340 on some places. I can't afford more than one chip/month. Tested these on an OC show, hoping for 7GHz one. And it was a one-time thing, so this was my chance for some easy binning. I have no vendor/site/retailer support . At least found a CBB-free 6.9GHz chip that will replace mine, otherwise no real difference. Now I have to buy it on a normal retail price, but still happy I have that chance.
TaPaKaH
can't you return rejects to the shop in 14/21 days after purchase?
I.nfraR.ed
That's only valid for online purchase here, but I'm not sure if any shop here will accept it more than once. You have to deal with an "inside-man", otherwise no chance for such tactics. And the place with affordable price has no online shop. Plus that's the only place I can ask for a specific batch. On other places I just get random cpu.
