HWBOT Development: bugs, features and suggestions

Hey all, Some manufacturers are thinking about giving a free ticket for a girls-only team at the worldwide finals of their OC event. In general, these events are still dominated by men/boys () although we see an increase in mixed teams. I like the idea of having a team slot for a all-female team. I'm not sure, however, if there's a lot of interest for that. I know of a few female extreme overclockers, but are they interested in teaming up with another female and compete in a live overclocking final? Ideas, suggestions, opinions? Fire away!

Weird pointless question.... how is this number managed? This category got me thinking.... http://hwbot.org/hardware/videocard/geforce_9800_gt_ddr2?tab=info It comes up as 83 submissions... but there's a whopping 6 ranked.

  3. Started by K404,

This might be too late for Rev 4.0 but kicking these into the open can't hurt 3D and 2D leaderboards.... Would it be possible to have 3D and 2D global leaderboards? I don't mean INSTEAD OF the existing combined leaderboard, but if it could be a search option or another global table, taking only the 2D or 3D results to form leaderboards by region/country/ global etc.... Some people focus on/prefer 2D... some on 3D... if they could organise regionally/ globally by their strong points, it's always good In each users submissions page..... could results be split into optional sections... AMD... Intel... nVidia.... ATI..... PCI-E/ AGP/ PCI? People …

Hello everybody, First of all I would like to say hi and congratulate the community of this website, which is just great. I've got a question: is the Pentium 'D' 945 in HWBot database? I say this because I was using my dad's computer and I wanted to know which CPU he had. I installed CPU-z and it was the mentioned before. Then I wanted to know if I had any chance of winning points or cups with that CPU, so I looked up in the database but I couldn't find it. I submited a score of superpi (stock clocks) but I couldn't get any further since that CPU wasn't there. I submited the score as if it was the Pentium 'D' 820, hoping that someone or something would check it,…

  5. This issue has been popping up a few times in the last couple of months, so maybe it's time to work on solving it. Ideas and concepts have been floating around for months (maybe even years) and here's a first worked-out version of a competition that should make everyone happy (). Note: # This document is a WORK-IN-PROGRESS and certainly not a fact. We're releasing this to the public to get feedback on vital points we've missed or things we've overseen! # Name is work-in-progress as well # Biggest change for household overclockers: no ES in amateur ranking # We do NOT force anyone to join any category LINK TO THE FULL DOCUMENT: http://hwbot.org/blo…

I know that some of you came here because XXX was in the title -.- nc... My suggestion is, can hwbot has like /hardware/chipset/xxx (which is a really nice feature btw) a /hardware/socket/xxx ? With the same table-like to compare all motherboards/chipset most used/awarded by socket. Maybe it's already planned for rev 4. I have a blackout. PS : My english looks really weird at 00:30 AM

  7. As per suggestion of Chispy: I'm voting for this idea: it's more information and not so much more time-consuming. Let us know what you think

  8. Started by systemshock.overclock,

Hello, can you please add the mobile cpu Intel Stealy A110 . Thanks. Default speed:

  9. i noticed that Mobility Radeon 5450 doesn't exist in hwbot database so, i ask you to include it in your database http://www.hwbot.org/signature.img?iid=511302&thumb=false&iehack=.jpg i submitted my score as Radeon 5450, and Mobility Radeon 5450 is not even comparable with a regular radeon 5450 in performance i might add thanx for reading

  10. Started by Barton,

If there is not yet a way to search results for say the fastest Super Pi 1M time on a) perhaps a S478 P4 Northwood of any and all speeds in a single search or b) an AMD Turion S754 chip of any and all speeds, for example, or c) the fastest Wprime 1024 times on any S939 processor, for yet another example, You get the idea... Please consider this a request to add that capability if we don't know have it. =================================================================== If the capability to do searches similar to the examples above already exists would you tell me how to do so? ..

  11. When submitting scores, its fairly easy to leave the score field blank on accident. Maybe I'm the only idiot around that made this mistake, but a lil javascript would keep people from hitting submit without filling out that field. Please delete this at your convenience: http://hwbot.org/community/submission/2099769_i.m.o.g._wprime_32m_phenom_ii_x4_965_be_0sec_0ms

Hey all, We're planning an updated version of the HWBOT external API. Before the coding can start, obviously we need to know what YOU want. In other words, please let us know what you expect from an HWBOT API or if you have any suggestions/requests for it. List of current APIs: http://hwbot.org/api.info.do

I've already tried to launch this idea through XS, but no one posted to the thread. So, new try here at HWBOT. The idea is simple: overclocking has been around for many years and existed long before HWBOT was around to collect historical data on overclocking achievements. The earliest HWBOT data is from 2006 (I think that's when the site switched to a new database model/server/idontknow), but there are many overclocking results dating from even before 2000. This kind of information is vital for an accurate historical overview of overclocking as well as overclocking results. Example (May 1998): http://homepage2.nifty.com/Katsuya/199805report.htm The idea is rea…

  14. New arrangement for Benchmarks The arrangement are confused now (for me) 3DMark Vantage - Performance 3DMark03 3DMark05 3DMark06 3DMark2001 SE Aquamark Unigine Heaven - Xtreme Preset (DX11) My suggestion is 3DMark Vantage - Performance 3DMark06 3DMark05 3DMark03 3DMark2001 SE Aquamark Unigine Heaven - Xtreme Preset (DX11) or the old one 3DMark2001 SE 3DMark03 3DMark05 3DMark06 3DMark Vantage - Performance Aquamark Unigine Heaven - Xtreme Preset (DX11) this arrangement look numerically better

  15. Started by Splave,

Ive never submitted a wprime with a motherboard tab of cpu-z open. I thought all 2d was cpu-z cpu and cpu-z mem. Example SS shows motherboard required and rules say, just wprime time and cpu tab. Thanks for clearing this up

  16. Started by Splave,

Any way to do this on a personal level? I dont care to see the news from sites I frequent already. Would rather see peoples scores and discussion. Thanks either way

Can some mod fix my achievements tab cause none of them is shown... I have recalculated some of my scores but nothing happened Thanks in advance

  19. Started by [GF]Duke,

I just noticed that the new Orb dosn't show the test details for PC Mark 05. So can i suggest that SS's be mandatory now with PC Mark 05? After all we will have no clue on the HDD startup score.

  20. Started by K404,

Hey. Since my last global submission spree, i've moved comfortably into the top 100, but the achievement has not updated (OC Lord?) I noticed that the sub-zero CPU, GPU and watercooled GPU awards took a bit of time to update, should I just wait longer?

  21. Started by K404,

The achievements for cooling... CPU subzero, GPU subzero and something watercooled.... how do I get them? I saw "Picture required" but... what do I do? Do I really need to start posting pictures of my subzero sessions... does anyone not know about my dice + watercooling addiction?

hello guys...am a newbie in HWBOT...but not to overclocking...... i have one small question... why dont you guys accept this benchmarking app in HWBOT? http://www.virgilioborges.com.br/hyperpi/ i have tested the program and frankly its more relevant in today's scenario...... so can you guys add this application too? thanks sumonpathak INDIA

  25. Started by Massman,

As brought up in this thread: http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13456 -- Heh, I have a bit better tools being able to go through the database . It's getting more of an experiment to figure out how to set up the 'find similar results'-feature. I imagine we'd need different level of searches depending on how similar you want the results to be. Eg: if you are running SPI32M on a DDR2 platform, DDR3 scores are perhaps not interesting. Or maybe they are. I don't know. We can grab the type of application from the database, so we can make GPU type unimportant for CPU app searches. Apart from that, I would define levels as: CPU - level 1: cpu_core, c…
