Here is what i'm confused, a search for 3D03 1xGPU ranking, best of team to look for TPP If i search by benchmarks/videocards i get this one But if i use the search browser on the right, type in example 580, pick the GTX580, and search for the same ranking, 3D03 1xGPU, best of team i get this one instead what's the difference?? global points and hardware points? and if so what's the total TPP which goes to the team, the sum up of the 2?

Hey all, R4 has been up and running for about a month now, so it's time to review the current implementation and finetune/apply fixes where necessary just like we did with R3 (3DWR + incentive to push low-competitive rankings). As far as I can see, we need to do three adjustments: 1) reduce points in TPP global rankings (/2) 2) increase points in TPP hardware rankings (x2) 3) fix TPP global user contribution logic: http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27487 Currently, the TPP hardware rankings yield too little points due to too little teams participating. In many categories, the UP points are 2x the TPP points. The reduction of TPP global rankings is rela…

Posted about a month ago in the Rev.4 discussion thread: Any updates on this? Also, I wanted to know if there will be team points awarded for team competitions (ie monthly HWBot challenges)? What was the intention, what is the current status, and how do we plan for future comps? Thanks

How do we find results for Socket A (462) Semprons? When I search for a Sempron 2600+ a link drops down, but when you click on it an error message appears that says: "Page no longer exists."

Hey all, As a large amount of people requested the return of the Hardware Compare tool, we planned it for R4.2 (August). If you have any suggestions/requests/ideas for the compare tool, feel free to post them here. We're going for a basic implementation of the tool, so don't expect we'll be able to add crazy elaborate features.

I have a query about Global Points and their contribution to pro league rankings. Recently i noticed a user in the Pro league had two results in their top 15 for wPrime 32M, 1024M, and a couple others. The difference was the hardware used. For global points, if I have a great CPU can i then use different video cards (e.g. AM3 use 5870, 6970, 480, 580) and all of them attract GL points and all of them count towards my Pro league ranking?

As per request, an overview of the different alternatives proposed by HWBOT. I also added a (non-binding) poll that will serve as reference. Note that the voting options have vague names: this is to make sure people actually read the alternatives rather than judge based on a single name. Alternative 1: "PowerTeams" This is the teams league as proposed in the original Rev4 document, where team points are determined by the following variables (following variables describe "powerteam points"): - best team score per ranking (global/hardware) - amount of participating teams (determines weight) => Team Points = SUM(PowerTeam points) + : completely remove…

Hey all - I see Futuremark no longer sells keys for 3D03, and 05, and without a key you can't submit to 3DMark to get your verification URL needed for top 20 scores. What is one supposed to do then? Thanks

Hello all, Since we're getting good feedback on the plan, it's time to make it public for everyone. In the attached document, you will find the plans for the upcoming HWBOT Rev4. The major changes are: - Splitting up the manufacturer and end-user overclocking playground. - New style of teams league. - Live overclocking competitions affecting your point total. Later this week, HWBOT will have an interview with OC-TV (as were both staying in Taipei) and we'll discuss this new revision. If you have any questions or remarks, post it here and the answer should make the video. Also, please note that the titles of the leagues is still a working title. In addition, …

Has a final final final decision been made on Which versions (if any) of 3DMark11 will be awarded points in Rev4? Will the versions not getting points be removed? Thanks

A bit later than planned, but here it is: http://uat.hwbot.org/ Some important notes. First, as you can see at the bottom of the site, we are still running a beta version of the R4 code (HWBOT v4.0.0-SNAPSHOT build 3115). In practical terms, it means that this public test server is to show you the concept of revision 4 (layout, etc) and the final hwboint algoritms. Some pages are still in development and some are finished but not added to this build. Secondly, the rankings. The algoritms you see on the test server are final. The rankings are not entirely up-to-date since we're not running a live version of the database, but a full backup of a couple of days ag…

With REV4, HWBOT will be able to separate global points and hardware points for benchmarks. Unlike today, where a benchmark application either receives both global and hardware or no points at all, we'll be able to give benchmarks global, hardware, both or none. The plan was to set CPU-Z to 'hardware points' status when Rev4 launched. As there has been quite some complaints about this, we've revised this and re-enabled global points for now. The question still remains: should CPU-Z receive global points or not? Your vote! Like always, voting is public.

Hey all, In Rev4, we will split up the HWBOT benchmark suite in three parts: 'global', 'hardware' and 'beta'. - global = global and hardware points - hardware = only hardware points - beta = no points The idea here is that we will limit the amount of benchmarks you need to run to get a high ranking in the Overclockers League. Diversity is good, but if we add another 10 benchmarks, the ranking will more and more become function of the amount of available time. Therefore, a selection of 10/15 benchmarks (~ like now) will be used for global points. The more benchmarks, the better. Especially when benching for the team, it's nice to have as much benchmarks a…

Just wanted to share this document with you since it contains some features that have been requested in the last couple of days. This PDF was created for the staff meeting of roughly 10 days ago. In that meeting, we discussed the more technical details of the upcoming revision to find out whether they are technically possible and, of course, possible within the time-frame (end of february). Most of what's in the document is effectively planned, but of course it's always possible certain features turn out to be more time-extensive than originally planned and are postponed to a next revision. In any case, here's the link: HWBOT Rev4 Tech

... Nothing yet! In the beginning of Decemeber, we'll be heading to our designed to discuss the new looks of the Rev4. We're leaning towards giving him quite a lot of freedom in terms of design, in any case more freedom than rev2 -> rev3. But, if you have ideas on what HWBOT should look like: post 'em here. Good suggestions will definitly make it to the designer's table

The development of HWBOT is hugely limited by the amount of manpower and time restriction, which means that new stuff like for instance a dedicated section for notebooks are put on hold most of the time. I wonder ... if we had unlimited resources, what would YOU ask US to do? In other words: post your wildest HWBOT dreams

Hey guys, Working on figuring out a good system to get batch/stepping in the database. At first, I figured we'd just add a description field where could add a line ~ 3005F803, but there's some other information on the CPU as well that could be interesting. Also, there's info on the VGA (core/mem), chipset, different memory chips ... etc. So, the question: what's important to you and what can you do without?
