General overclocking

This is only a vague idea. Im sure theres consequences i've not thought of so...feel free to tear it apart. Would it be beneficial to separate the global rankings from the hardware rankings? Its possible to get 300 hardware points using no hardware from the last 3 years. 300 points gives a global ranking around 200th place. That says (relistically unofficially) that someone is 200th best in the world, GLOBALLY, with results that can mean nothing because of the age of the hardware. Its also possible for someone to bench a few categories with... say.... a GTX295 and be spanked in the global ranking by someone using gear thats generations behind. …

Since it's not "legally" possible to run 3DM01 with 32 Bit color, z and textures with a 16 MB card, I am wondering as to if results will be accepted here?

I had an entry flagged today. A forum post describing a HD3650 was identified as a 6600GT. In the past, I've also had various issues where it would decide a Katmai PIII was a Coppermine, an E6750 was a Q6700, and such. The annoying part isn't the mis-detection, it's the game of "Adjust the forum post, wait for the re-scan, check, repeat if necessary." It seems like sometimes, the parser is getting stuck on things that you don't realize are the key factor, and if you have to do it several times, it does get frustrating. First Id like to say thank you to the hwbot team, love the site and love the new features, top100 vcards and esp the autofill based on last submission, that one sure makes new submissions easier I was also wondering about something, an idea, would it be possible to have a way to ping a fellow member directly ? basically to let them know if something was off, you know something more mild than report submission ? mainly because some have some minor misspells and such, which do throw off the system (like 5mhz or 38ghz cpu ) but arent cheats or anything Thanks again ! I was wondering. I have a motherboard with 2 CPU's on it. I did some benchmarks using 2 CPU's. If i would remove 1 CPU and do the same benchmarks would that count as a legal submission?

As I understand it, the maximum hardware points that can go for a total score is 300. I've crossed that barrier and moved into hardware master. Now if I want to gain points, I have to get a global? I cannot get a global with my old junk, so anything I do now is just wasted time? (and perhaps hardware). So again, as I read it, this place, like so many other places, is all about the money spent, and not just the skill factor. Am I correct in my thinking?

Hello together, i have this Videocard: Geforce 6200 TC with 16MB and nv44 chip. I can easily overclock this card at 450/450 Mhz. I have read that i can unlock 4 Pipelines, but only with the nv43 Chip. The same question is, that there stood that its an nv44 Chip, but look there, he had 8 Shaders and 4 ROP´s. I have only 4 Shaders and 2 ROP´s. How to make it? i have an importent concerns! i love to overclock AMD CPUs but there is a big problem INTEL is not AMD and so a benchmark can not compare INTEl and AMD a realy good sample is superpi1m a E6600 @ default use in superpi1m between 21 seconds and i use and AMD Windsor @ 3,8 ghz and has the same time! but in most of other benchmarks i am much faster than an E6600 and has the performance with this Windsor @ 3,8 ghz of an E8300 @ default Superpi1m : AMD X2 6400+ @ 3750 MHz (21,87s) | E6600 @ 2400 MHz (21,00s) WPrime32m : AMD X2 6400+ @ 3740 MHz (23,092s) | E6600 @ 2400 MHz (69,265s) and this is an realy big problem. because i …
