SOLVED Hello all, I followed the Guide here: Updated MSI Z170 Non-K Overclocking Guide (new BIOS!) - Overclocking.Guide with that BIOS Z170-A Pro MSI Z170-A Pro Non-K OC BIOS 6.41 MB | 2256 downloads it also said in the comments "Try this Bios instead" but he won't regocnize it in MFLASH However it only restarts with a black screen (so I guess he can't handle something) and then starts with normal settings with a fixed BCKL of 100 but always 3700MHZ (so turbo function and everything is off). I tried it with lower BLCK than 122 for my 13 6100 but it won't change things. Can you help me? Field Value Motherboard…

Hello everyone ! I kept reading this forum for quite a bit and wanted to ask if there is any solution to unlock the BCLK to OC a little bit my 2650L v3. I saw this thread http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=112568 but did not understood what those bios-es are for.. Can any one come to my aid and give me some answers ? Thank you

  3. I've been painfully aware that saving CPU-Z validation (F7) often causes a lockup when you're borderline stable but never really noticed why until I was chasing 5 GHz on my SR-2. I could SuperPi 1M with all cores and HT enabled at 4.85 GHz but saving validation resulted in hard locks, restarts, and even validations sub 3 GHz. I (accidentally) noticed that when saving the validation the temperature readout on the motherboard would shoot to 99 almost instantly. Software reported a maximum temperature of around 120'c, and saving validation always resulted in thermal throttling. Why is this?

  4. Hello. Any one know if there is any tweaks or something to 3dmark Firestirke CPU score? im currenty running Windows 10 with Core I7 6900k @ 4.5gHZ / 3400Mhz CL15. and get around 235xx CPU score. I feel is a bit low for the clock speeds. http://hwbot.org/image/1659063.jpg - Any tweaks out there?

  5. Hello. I just got 2x ASUS STRIX GTX 980Ti OC for a good price. I always had Evga cause they allow me to get custom bios for more overclokcing and volts. Is there any one here who bring out Custom bios for the ASUS STRIX GTX 980Ti OC card to allow more voltage? std bios: http://i.imgur.com/lyCTk8E.png Thanks all

  6. Hello everyone! I'm stuck trying to find a bios option in my rampage extreme x48 to disable more than 1 core. I could just find the "multi-threading" under "cpu configuration" but this disable only one core in my q6600. Is there any option to disable 2 or even 3 cores on bios? I'm running the last official bios, 1301. Thanks in advance!

hey, I have my i7-6700K stable overclocked to 4,6 GHz but sometimes the second CPU core jumps from 60-70°C to 80-90°C for few seconds. In the most cases it happens if I Alt+Tab out of a game. Why is it just the second core and all others are fine? Is this bad or can I ignore it if it is not more then few seconds on the temp? Any idea if there is a way to prevent this?

  8. So, now you can set LOD level with the latest Nvidia 310.xx drivers. - enable Sparse Grid Supersampling - set lod - higher 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark11 scores (~ 6% in Vantage it seems) Feel free to give feedback on performance gain - pretty interested in seeing how much you can gain from it . Have fun!

I have problem with Gigabyte Z170x- gaming 5 F5x beta bios. When cpu is overclocked, no matter how, and start Xtu motherboard downclock cpu to 3,9-4,1Ghz. I tried everything that may help: power settings, lower voltages, lower memory frequency and nothing. With F4 bios there isn't such issue, but the memory efficiency is low. What can i miss? Any suggestions?

  15. I wonder, how fast these DDR3 rams can go - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series F3-14900CL8D-8GBXM: And what chips they use - so if there is a chance for getting them run faster with more voltage - and what is the safe (or reasonably safe?) voltage limit for them. That, of course, apply only when the chips used react well to more voltage. So, since the G.Skill logo claims "Go Beyond Limits", then I put these poor rams into Asus Z97-Pro (WiFi ac) board. Upon activating the XMP profile by switch on the board, the rams run at 8-9-9-24 2T @ 1866MHz. The 2T can be changed to 1T and at that point, it gives with not overclocked i7 4790K, 21 739MB/sec in Memtest 4.20. The v…

So I've gotten myself 3 Fury Xs and a regular Fury. Since Extreme Addict said he didn't get any cold bugs I figured I would try at least 1 of my cards on LN2. Now because I'm kinda short on money(I just spent it all on Fury Xs) I was wondering how much difference there is between a slim pot and fat pot if I'm just trying to run the card as cold as possible. From what I know a slim pot would be better for keeping the card really cold and a fat pot is better for keep the temperature steady.

I've now OC'd my 4690k to 4.4ghz, I also boosted my GPU up a bit, but max power I can get out of my 780ti is about 55-56%. I believe this is caused by a CPU bottleneck... At 4.4ghz, should a 4690k really be bottlenecking a 780ti to half its potential? Could it be something else going on? Thanks FYI: this was noticed while playing a game System Specs: Processor: Intel i5-4690k Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 BIOS: American Megatrends Graphics: nVidia 780Ti 3gb RAM: 8GB OS: Win 8.1 Pro Power Supply: 750w

Can you downclock for the save file or not? Ive heard both but not sure what the rule is.

  21. Hi. I'm going to run SPI on something slower than my slowest CPU so far: AMD K5-PR75 LINK (it took a bit more than 21). There are some problems. 1. Operating system, 2. Stability(extremely long counting operations eg. ~1-2 weeks? or more?), 3. Performance - memory issues. The biggest is the operating system. Most comfortable way and (top performance) is Windows XP, but as far as I know, this system can't be used with that old CPU. Why? There are answers found on the internet: 1. I know that XP can be booted with 64 meg of ram, it does work on TUSL2, PIII. I bought two special, still-working, high-performance, high-end socket 3 motherboards with…

  23. Using 275.33 and 355.60 the GPU will throttle when I go above ~1050 GPU core on water. Load temperatures are staying below 40°C. I've testing with just the voltages applied and a lower clock and at that point it's fine. However, when trying higher than 1050, it will get stuck at 405MHz switching from 2D to 3D clocks. Voltage is about 1.325V on the core. I'm also using NVidia PowerMizer Manager and have disabled the low power states. Any ideas?

  24. The GTX 780 TI & SLI - End of Life - Performance Analysis The point of this post / thread was to display some hard facts and anecdotal experiences with the GTX 780 Ti SLI. Kepler Degradation In Performance: For something that could be tested, it seems like a lot of people have not taken the time, an arduous and tedious amount of time, to produce some tangible data regarding Kepler degradation in performance. Popular opinion even states that the last viable driver was 347.88. Well I am here to tell that I have data that may prove otherwise. I am going to let you guys make your own conclusion, I have no interest in persuading opinion towards nVidia or ev…
