Forgot what this line should be

  1. I had some experience of PSC overclocking under subzero temps two years ago, but it was done the ghetto way - without any RAM pot, just using aluminum foil: Temps was not good at all, I only got around -30C...-35C (measured from thermocouple attached near RAM IC). Anyway, my Lynnfield was BCLK-limited, so I stuck to 2908 MHz no matter what cooling. I was surprised so much teams used LN2 cooling for RAM on AOOC 2012, so I decided it's time to move forward and ordered RAM pot as well as my new CPU pot: Now I only have my old Hyper kit (very good on any platform, but no go with Ivy Bridge) and one samsung kit for daily usage and some 3D. Both is not t…

Avexir is working on a new lineup of DDR3 high performance memory: Blitz II Series. Blitz II Series lineup, will be characterized by the fancy looking lights. The memory stick will be made up by two different modules: DRAM module (basically the same used for the Core Series lineup) and the Tesla Module which provide the so called "Tesla Lighting Effect". Of course if the Tesla Module fails, the DRAM module will continue working with no problems. "Blitz II Series" memory modules, will be marketed in the Q2 2013, both in dual and quad-channel kit with speeds going from 1600 MHz to 2800 MHz. Current ES (engineering sample) kits feature Elpida ICs, but the final …

  5. So on a whim decided to test some BBSE under LN2 as I have never had good results with BBSE under LN2. pro tips for the community: Vccio and vccsa must be tuned perfectly (per Crusty) in my case 1.104 vccio and 1.153 vccsa Vttdr at auto on this kit is fine (0.764 is auto setting on OC Formula, thanks again Crusty). On my other kits 0.85v on air is fine for 2600 8-11-7 so go figure Clocking on air means nothing for BBSE as this kit would not even post at 2600 c8 at any volts, so all those sticks that went in the reject pile because no 2600 8-11-7 on air need to be retested under cold, making binning BBSE that much more fun:) Look for extra hot running …

The other day I was looking for the highest rated Intel XMP certified memory kit, but couldn't quite find it. Anyone has an idea? Fyi, - XMP Ready = Memory kit has XMP profile, vendor has gone over the XMP checklist and self-certified the XMP as functional. - XMP Certified = Multiple samples of the XMP-ready Memory kit were sent over to Intel and was tested in their lab to check if the XMP works on all kits. There are a lot of XMP-ready kits, but the highest certified ones are around DDR3-2666 rating, I think

  13. so Hynix BFR was not working well for me this time, IMC could not run 2600+ with any sort of decent timings and even though I was able to boot at 2856+ there was no semblance of 32m stability whatsoever, pretty sure it is the IMC on this particular chip. Memory temps were -40 to -50. 1.925v mandatory frostiness:) Going back to PSC:cool:

  17. Just a quick heads up for everyone that is waiting for the next Hynix IC to come out. Been playing around with the new -EFR IC and they are definitely not for overclockers. Default spec is something like DDR3-1600C8-8-8 and they can't be pushed higher than DDR3-2133. In fact, DDR3-2133 isn't even stable with C11 and 1.75V ... It's probably going to end up in low-end low-voltage SKUs, but no new magic ICs for overclocking. Just FYI.

  18. So, let's talk about this kit of ram...Patriot Viper Xtreme Division 2 2133C11 8GB. They run at 2133 MHz 11-11-11-30 with 1,65V. The kit is composed by 2 modules 4GB each. Pretty sure they are Hynix. So let's remove the heatspreader to be sure ! What about overclocking ? Screen (1,65V) thightest timings 1600MHz @ 7-9-8-27 2T 1866MHz @ 8-10-9-27 2T 2133MHz @ 9-11-10-28 2T 103,2 BCLK to get 2200MHz 2201 @ 9-11-10-27 2T [/center] Mooooar volts... 1,725V and... 2202MHz 9-11-10-15 1T almost rock solid lol Read full review here: http://www.hwmaster.com/2012/06/18/recensione-patriot-vip…

Hi all, I'm looking at the leader board of overclocking ram, these scores when they are overclocked do they have to be stable to submit a score? I will be overclocking everything else but ill just looking for the highest of each component at the moment. Current I have my ram reading at 24k and still pushing this is with standard air cooling. Thanks

  20. Here is the official launch text: We are happy to announce new professional liquid nitrogen container for memory modules. This product is targeted to enthusiasts who like to push their hardware to absolute limits. Container is designed by Finnish extreme overclocker Petri Korhonen (SF3D) and it is produced in Poland by another extreme overclocker Marcin Rywak (ryba). The new liquid nitrogen cooler for memory modules is called SF3D OC Triple Point. This product will bring fresh innovations to memory cooling and take it to the level it belongs. For example mounting mechanism is completely new, so you can use all types of memory modules since DDR1 era to latest DDR3…

  24. April 3rd. Earlier this evening, I drove to Leeghoofd's place to test a couple of BBSE sticks. They couldn't do C6-9-6 on the board I had, so had to verify and test on a different platform. Arriving in Leeghoofd's insanely large mansion, greeting his wife and dozen mistresses, replying "no thanks, I'm the driver" when the butler offered me a glass of champagne and congratulating Leeghoofd on the latest yacht he bought (it really is a beauty), I came across this nice set of GSkill RipjawsZ F3-19200CL9Q-16GBZMD ... ... unopened!
