Yes, a $ 1000 CPU just polished it. Warranty is over. :D

Mine is a 5820K, a bit cheaper. But 5960x will come for sure.

Vid on Haswell-E imho is useless, same 4.5 GHz @ voltage on air. all depends from CB and cpu itself regarding scaling   My golden USA cpu has vid 0.992v, does 4.5 ghz @ 1.275v and 5.8 GHz 4-Way Gen

Oldscarface has a retail one that does 4500/4500/3000 at 1.1ish volts too... it's just pure luck or have the cash or resources to bin them... However it is still no warranty that they will scale up to 5.8Ghz...

Some teasers from the CPU Alby mentioned.

All done with a cascade and it is not maxed !!!!

Start temp CPU with GPUPI was around -85 degrees, end temp was -52 degrees.

Start temp CPU with CINEBENCH R15 was around -85 degrees, end temp was -70 degrees.

GPUPI 1B -> Time : 2:29:740

CPU speed : 5500 MHZ, Voltage 1,356 Volt

Uncore speed : 4860 MHZ, Voltage 1,365 Volt

CINEBENCH R15 -> Score : 2195

CPU speed : 5430 MHZ, Voltage 1,346 Volt

Uncore speed : 4785 MHZ, Voltage 1,35 Volt

Hi I bought before two days i7-5820K. Price was good, fabric sealed 140e under regular price. I have option to booth and 5930K but didn't need him.

Only I can't find information about batch number J502C306 Malay. Only here one one member have. If some of you know is it good or bad batch or no lottery. Anyway I didn't want to buy 5930K because same number of cores and I would keep booth on max 4.0GHz and for 30e more than i5-4690K everything what work is good. Motherboard should arrive for few days and I will build than.

I'm gamer but i7-4790K as platform offer only few percent more speed per core, nothing else. X99 have few advantages and will be better for Windows 10 and DX12.

Directly from Intel Europe.

Not an ES.

The fourth 5960X I am buying ( after I sold two and one failed ).

Batch J510B215

Der8auer would say here " Platinum CPU "

On a custom water loop, no chiller, ambient 22.

CBR15.

4.5ghz - 1.12V

4.6ghz - 1.20V

4.7ghz - 1.2750V

4.8ghz - 1.34V

4.9ghz - 1.41V ( 2.00V VCCIN )

Rock stable Alda64 stress test two hours.

Rock stable Asus real bench 1 hour.

Uncore 4.6 - 1.35V

Uncore 4.7 - 1.42V

I am simply amazed !!!

George

That is really great!!!

Thanks Daniel,

Words coming from you, have special importance.

Thanks man.

George:celebration:

I forgot to mention that all the above are with pretty tight mem timings too.

G,Skill DDR4-3200, 13-14-16-16-1T-270trfc, with only 1.48V and 1.15V VCCSA.

Lol...

Really promising :) Time for LN2!

Indeed !!!

Thanks man. I knew you would post.

Hardware like that gives me a hard itch for LN2 but,

1) I do not have the knowledge

2) Maybe I do not have the balls..... ( I tried to type with small letters, ashamed:mad:)

Think I will buy some cheap old stuff and give it a shot

George:celebration:

Allways welcome in my hands if you're sick of it ;)

I am sure of that.

I think though that I will keep it for a while...:)

By the way folks, is there any interest in building a dual cpu system, say E5-2699-V2 ( x2 ) for benching ?

I have a good source and it might end up not insanely expensive.

Tested a 5820K ES. Batch 3413B682

Cinebench 11.5 at 1.22v @ 4.5GHz.

GPUPI 1B stable at 1.45v @ 5350MHz under cascade cooling (-60 load ish).

Hi folks, my first post on this awesome forum.

I've just received a 5960x Batch #: L427C192 (Malay SR20Q) which is listed as potato. Still sealed so was wondering whether I should return it. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Not all J-batches are strong. Some batches are consistently good on air (4.5 <1.20 cinebench) but also consistently suck on LN2 (~5.5 cinebench).
