Christian Ney
Link to poll With the introduction of the OC-ESPORTS platform for online and offline overclocking competitions, there are much more possibilities to host competition series. Series can focus on specific types of overclocking that certain people find more interesting. For example the Old School is Best School competitions focuses on legacy hardware and the Skylake Low-Clock Challenge focuses on tweaking the Skylake platform. Organizing, maintaining, and supporting overclocking competitions is quite time-intensive. It requires good knowledge on the competition subject to choose the right stage duration, hardware limitations, and benchmarks. In case the competition is very popular, it also takes a lot of time to moderate the incoming submissions. That’s where the Community Competition Task Force (“CCTFâ€) Initiative comes in. Under the supervision of the senior moderator staff, members of the community can volunteer to help manage the community competitions from inception to moderation and announcing the results. It allows us to host overclocking competitions for the community, by the community. How does it work? Every CCTF member is introduced to our Asana cooperative platform by Christian Ney. On the platform, the CCTF collects ideas and feedback from their respective communities about possible competitions. When an idea is approved by the CCTF, a member of the team will work on planning out the stages, hardware, and benchmark definitions. The CCTF members are in charge of the competition they supervise. This includes setting out and enforcing the competition rules, communication with the participants via the forum, promote the competition, and help resolve disputes. Of course the CCTF is supported by the senior moderating staff at HWBOT as we will help fine-tune rules and communication methods. How do I get involved? The goal of the CCTF is to represent the global overclocking community. If you want to get involved, or want to nominate someone, let us know in the thread below. Via election we will then pick the 5 top approved members to join the CCTF. Thank you for your support and dedication! ObscureParadox
I'm always up for organizing competitions as some of my team mates will vouch. More than happy to help out in this department
SoF
Sounds like a nice way to create own forum competitions or any oc event. Will look deeper into it when having some spare time.
xxbassplayerxx
I'm definitely interested. Will the team members be able to participate? @Rasparthe
Rasparthe
This was my main questions as well. If someone is a member of the CCTF are they excluded from participating in the competition?

Christian Ney
I'm definitely interested. Will the team members be able to participate? Yes, since there will be at least five CCTF members, they will be allowed to compete.

zeropluszero
Unpopular opinions thread. basically, the interface is over complicated, difficult to navigate basic information, and frankly, doesnt improve on the previous interface which you can see here http://hwbot.org/competition/country_cup_2014

xxbassplayerxx
Unpopular opinions thread. basically, the interface is over complicated, difficult to navigate basic information, and frankly, doesnt improve on the previous interface which you can see here http://hwbot.org/competition/country_cup_2014 I do agree. It was nice how you could quickly navigate through the stages with only small refreshes happening. More information was easily available and you could get a very quick overview of the entire competition quite easily. There's too much going on at OC E-Sports at any one time. It was also kind of funny that the best way to navigate was by changing the URL because the Team Cup wasn't even in the drop down. EDIT: I tried to make a video with the Country Cup 2014 on both sites showing exactly how much slower E-Sports is but it kept crashing while encoding (crappy software). Try it out... open them side-by-side and start clicking on the stages. The old site loads them in less than a second and OC E-Sports can take upwards of two or three seconds. It just feels drastically slower. Edited October 9, 2015 by xxbassplayerxx

ObscureParadox
:ws: That's life, really. Complaining gets you nowhere It doesn't get you nowhere exactly, a group complaining opens up discussion so it does something. What happens though if you get more people complaining than actually suggesting improvements then it all just gets done slower. Best cause of action is to bring up a potential issue, then have people resolve it with discussion of the best plan of action then actually doing it. There is no point in people continuously saying "OC-Esports so broke, fix it" or "Damn I hate that site, why can't we just use old HWBot features" how the hell is anyone meant to improve on the site if no constructive criticism is given. Rant over.
