Guest Sinebrychof Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 As the title says, looking for der8auer ram modules or similar to replace the EK ones as they have bad pressure and it is very easy to damage the threads on them.
phobosq Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Can I join your search? Mine also broke, 3 out of 6 don't hold.
TaPaKaH Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Can I also hop on the WTB RAM plates bandwagon? All four of my EK plates have gone to crap, and new EK plates can't be used with thermal paste since the gap between the chips and the heatsinks is too wide (and hence only suitable for thermal pads).
der8auer Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Seems like I have to order a new load of plates
Guest Sinebrychof Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 (edited) I could use EK ones somewhat ok with paste with my own made screws but its so easy to damage the top screw hole threads aswell and also I hate allen key screws. Edited January 20, 2016 by Sinebrychof
xxbassplayerxx Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Fuck it, I guess I'll get these while everyone is searching. Alternatively, this could be titled "EK ram heatsinks are absolute junk, they strip easily and have poor contact and pressure".
WhiteWulfe Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 I like Bassplayer's alternate thread title. I'd be in the market for some too, but haven't saved up to buy the cooling pots yet.
der8auer Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Will check tomorrow how fast he can produce a new load I guess normal aluminium heatspreaders are fine or does anyone want to have copper ones?
Administrators websmile Posted January 20, 2016 Administrators Posted January 20, 2016 I have some old titan copper hs from ddr1 Kingstons I once had, 15 Euros for you, Sam
Guest Sinebrychof Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Alu is better Roman, can make faster temp changes .
phobosq Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Will check tomorrow how fast he can produce a new load I guess normal aluminium heatspreaders are fine or does anyone want to have copper ones? Basic question - how much for modules and shipping?
GtiJason Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Will check tomorrow how fast he can produce a new load I guess normal aluminium heatspreaders are fine or does anyone want to have copper ones? I need a couple of sets as well, aluminum is fine unless someone has a strong argument for copper. Any idea on price per set?
GtiJason Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 We need heatsinks! You're not lying about this, especially if you have Ripjaws V
rtsurfer Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 You're not lying about this, especially if you have Ripjaws V Lol, so true. Ripjaws V would be cooled better if Gskill shipped them naked & we pointed a fan at them. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
bartx Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 I have this thing 80% designed. I'll receive the pot for measurements in this week and I'll be able to make a sample
funsoul Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Awesome bartx! Keep us posted, could use a set of 4 myself.
Strong Island Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 ya I guess I would grab some also. The ek spreaders work for single side ok. I just add a big enough spacer to the backside of the stick and use a decent amount of paste on the chips and they hold fine. If I look into the spreader I can see the paste squeezed out to edge and it holds tight. But I hate the screw holes.
Samsarulz Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 since theres a lot of people interested I can grab some
