suzuki Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 If intel plans to launch i5 with HT and no Igp to counter attack amd's launch ,it seems we will have a nice surprise from Amd eith this new series. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Alan_Alberino Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 https://videocardz.com/65913/how-fast-is-ryzen Ryzen 7 1800X faster than i7-6900K at half price, this is looking veeery good Quote
Doug2507 Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 But where it counts for benching......will they be 4c/10c masters...? Doubtfully... Quote
buildzoid Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 The 8 core is a good way to get competitive in the 3Dmark rankings. Sure you'll still lose to the 6950Xs but you'll be keeping up with the 6900K and 5960X and IMO that's enough if you want don't want 1st places and more aiming for top 10/20. Quote
flanker Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 If its real, its awesome for physics score...possible to fight with big chips of Intel 8c/16t! Wow... Quote
chew* Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 So lets look at some facts. We have 95watt rated tdp turbo chips. Safe to say that non turbo fully clocked to turbo speeds is going to consume more than 95 watts. The majority of boards thus far have an 8 pin ( 150 watt ) Then we have the ASUS ROG hero with an 8 + 4 ( 225 watt ) I am not a rocket scientist and been away for awhile but im going to guess the Hero is not the top tier of ROG. If this is not a top tier and they are supplying 225 watts I'm quite sure there is a good reason. That said if the hero is supplying 225 watts and my sources have reported no cpu deaths but confirmed board deaths ( no mention of which boards ) I think its safe to assume that when oced under extreme conditions these chips may be exceeding 150 watt draw. conclusion? We may see and want to wait for beefier powered boards ( those of us who plan to beat the snot out of these chips loaded 16 threads ln2 ) Quote
buildzoid Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 The CPU 8pin connector can do a lot more than 150W. The GPU 8pin is only 3GND and 3 12V and that can do over 150W. So CPU 8pin is at least 200W and if you go by the spec. Which is actually really underated because the official spec for the connector is that each pair of 12V and GND pin is good for 13A(this is more than the 10A rating of the 18AWG cables PSUs use). I've shoved close to 400W through CPU 8 pins no problem and based on their electrical spec I would advise not pushing more than 450W through an 8 pin since at that point the cables might melt. As for the VRMs blowing up. Without knowing what boards blew up that doesn't really tell us anything. Plenty of AM3+ boards also blow up. If none of the boards currently announced can handle maxed out Zen CPUs there's always the E-power option but I really doubt that will be necessary Quote
speed.fastest Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 I just tell you AMD Rysen result is unbelievable, Im shocked! Quote
chew* Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 I can no longer comment confirm nor deny anything anymore for time being Quote
flanker Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 I saw only real Cinebench run of 1700X and there is it good Details I cant tell with respect to me and AMD relationships. Quote
chew* Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 (edited) Msi has a board with 8+4 cpu power now. Looks like 4+2 for phases? tough to tell. I see 6 chokes. oops missed 4 chokes under heatsink. Total of 10. Weird layout cap wise with a mix of electrolytic and surface mount ( been awhile name escapes me ) Seeing a trend with the top end boards now. Edited February 21, 2017 by chew* Quote
Massman Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 Just to add/highlight some context. This is previous best Cinebench R15 for AMD consumer CPU: Niuulh`s Cinebench - R15 score: 1218 cb with a FX-9590 1229 with FX-9590 at 7679 MHz 2449 with Ryzen 7 1800X at 5200-ish MHz :celebration: Quote

elmor Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 There's a screenshot leaked showing 2363 @ 5.2G, how can everyone think 2449 is done at 5.14-5.2? Quote
flanker Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Elmor was there...,-) Im really believe, later we will see 2500 points with Ryzens. All its about time and OC guys and binning Quote
Doug2507 Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Be interesting to see any of the top 5 5960x run again with latest version. Quote
flanker Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 the gain is not epic, hard to say how much points add it with 16 threads...I tested it at Kaby and not much, few points. Quote
Administrators websmile Posted February 24, 2017 Administrators Posted February 24, 2017 Wizerty ran 6g new version lately, gain was not enough to beat old ~6050 score, gain is 10-15 points Quote
