unityofsaints Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 (edited) In the spirit of the multiple ongoing polls, I'd like to ask whether there should be a mandatory O.S. drop-down in every submission. Considering the strict O.S. requirements we have these days I think it would help with moderation as it's much quicker to for example look at a Fire Strike submission on Haswell without a validation link done on Win 10 and contact the submitter straight away since this combination is never allowed. Loading the screenshot every time is much slower and sometimes they are even hard to read. This new field will also stop some people from submitting as they would potentially realise their mistake at submission time instead of afterwards (or not at all). Last (but not least!), this additional field would allow mass sweeps of the database to find and moderate and/or delete old invalid submissions which were not caught at the time. This is not possible currently as I don't believe optical character recognition is up to the task Edited December 19, 2018 by unityofsaints 1 2 Quote
speed.fastest Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Agreed! at least not delete the submission but disable the point Quote
TerraRaptor Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 I like the idea that we share OS info but it would be nice not to have another app/window to show OS info. Maybe cpu-z may have another textbox on main window to meet this requirement? Quote

Jumper118 Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 The os should be in a drop down menu and only show the os's that are allowed to be used with that hardware and benchmark in the drop down. That way you can't choose the wrong one at all. Quote

Members GeorgeStorm Posted December 19, 2018 Members Posted December 19, 2018 Certainly could help with moderation and general understanding of what can be used with different OS versions if it either had a warning saying this OS isn't valid, or just didn't even show the OS when filling in the HW detais. 2 1 Quote
chispy Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 (edited) Really good idea to have the OS used shown. Also it would be good to talk about the heavy used of snipping tool that cut half of the submission window i have seen it recently whereby even the cpu-z tab was cut in half on an old Pro-overclocker submission and it was posted as if nothing. Please re evaluate this bad behaviour of cutting too much of the screenshot using snipping tools or remove that option completely and demand a full screenshot , thanks. @richba5tard , @Leeghoofd , @websmile , Any input of you guys on this great thread would be appreciate it. Something can be done about this i believe. Edited December 22, 2018 by chispy 5 Quote

Members GeorgeStorm Posted December 22, 2018 Members Posted December 22, 2018 I would support full screen and OS mandatory, I believe only frederik could do anything about it the extra submission field. 2 1 Quote
