Crew Leeghoofd Posted January 27, 2020 Crew Posted January 27, 2020 (edited) Take your pick guys. I just googled these in Europe, US and Japan... at reasonable costs Candidates: nVIDIA GT 210 Nvidia GTS 450 GDDR5 Nvidia GTX 550 TI 1GB AMD Radeon 5770 AMD Radeon 6770 Nvidia GTX 950 I know both AMDs are based on the same core, we can combine these if needed Edited January 28, 2020 by Leeghoofd Quote
Guest Digg_de Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 will there be a limitation for hardware (platform) when we benching one of this cards? Quote
Members GeorgeStorm Posted January 28, 2020 Members Posted January 28, 2020 Aim would be to choose benchmarks where the platform would have little to no effect hopefully allowing a range of platforms to be used Quote
ObscureParadox Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 God damn it I just got rid of my good GTS 450 ?? Quote

I know anything pre 3dm06 does but what about newer 3dmarks where cpu score is counted, any where we can specify just graphics score? Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted January 28, 2020 Author Crew Posted January 28, 2020 (edited) GPU only possible benchies are: Unigene Basic, Vantage, 3D11 Entry & Performance, Firestrike, TimeSpy and TimeSpy Extreme Edited January 28, 2020 by Leeghoofd Quote
mickulty Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 The 210 is slow enough that any bench would be GPU bound in a reasonable configuration, so it would be possible to use Aquamark or 3Dmark2001SE for example. Just saying Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted January 28, 2020 Author Crew Posted January 28, 2020 all depends on what GPU will be chosen… just listing possible options.... Quote
superpatodonaldo Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 why not 3dmark2003 (with max cpu freq fixed)? 1 Quote

Could do any of 03/05/06 with benchmate and cpu freq limited. Keep everyone honest I'm guessing @Leeghoofd will have another poll selecting benchies after this one closes so a gpu is decided upon. Splave Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 (edited) holy democracy I like the new hwbot already, unless you make the poll and then disregard the results like the old ways Edited January 29, 2020 by Splave 2 Quote

Just make sure all the benches chosen will be heavily gpu bound. Therefore NOT including 03/05/06 ect. 7 hours ago, unityofsaints said: Yes let's use the alpha part of a beta app to "keep everyone honest" Do you have a better way to enforce a cpu freq limit? Quote

mickulty Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Protip: The Powercolor 5770 PCS++ with the memory heatsinks on the back has a Volterra VT1165MF controller (not the PCS+ without the heatsinks, that's not volterra, techspot are clowns), documented to have excellent software voltage control. Full datasheet at https://www.rom.by/files/vt1165m.pdf - check page 20 for SVID codes to over 2V and the SMbus registers, hex edited sapphire trixx might do the job though. Have fun with the modding comp guys. 1 Quote
