Massman Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 That is actually not a bug of XTU, but an incompatibility problem with the M6G BIOS. XTU uses the voltage and frequency as defined in the official BIOS Writer's Guide. Sometimes ODMs will use a different way to set voltage and frequencies and that will conflict with XTU settings. In short: the only people who can make a fix for this is the mainboard bios team. Quote
The Mutt Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 I think I might have a bug. 4.2 version that supports Sandy Bridge refuses to start, it just says: Unable to start Intel Extreme Tuning Utility. If there is another performance tuning application running, you must close it before trying to start this application. 4.1 works but with that I can´t run the benchmark... Anyone with the same problem? Quote
Crew Strunkenbold Posted August 29, 2013 Crew Posted August 29, 2013 Can confirm with an Celeron G460. Tool starts with an i7 2600k on the same system. So it seems that not all cpus are affected. Quote
The Mutt Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I also have a Celeron but a G550 and it's the same on my laptop and a i3. Quote
The Mutt Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Today I tested to reinstall W7 on my laptop with a i3-2350M and it's the same problem, and there is nothing installed exept XTU. I don't get it, what could be the problem? Quote
Schmuckley Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 New XTU 4.2.08 Will not install. I have dotnet4.5 IME all that gobblety-gook.. Just uninstalled 4.2.06 and it was running fine. Quote
Massman Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 Try running Windows Update when you have XTU v4.2.0.8 installed. I had some issues before and that resolved it. Quote
The Mutt Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Tried that and it's the same on my htpc with g550 on a m5g. Quote
Ajay57 Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Anyone know how to fix a BUG with 3D03/05/06 i can run these no problems, but when i reach the end NO RESULTS SCREEN OR BOX. It just redirects me to Futuremark where there you can see your score, but that is useless as its not accepted by the Bot!! To try to fix this i have uninstalled the old programs and reinstalled everything a fresh, but still the same thing no results!! Also installed the latest Futuremark Info programme 09/2013 and you guested it, does not work. Now all these download came from the HWbot via the Futuremark Web site. So if there is anyone out there who can fix this PLEASE HELP as i have scores i can not Sub to the site and gain my points. Respect, AJ. Quote
GENiEBEN Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Free versions do not show up the score AFAIK, only ends up opening ORB webpage. Be 'resourceful'. Btw, a screenshot of the webpage showing the score, SI version and CPU/GPU + the windows of CPUZ/GPUZ on top of it is deemed ok. Quote

LaTour Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) Good day, I have XTU (4.1.0.12) and install: - Intel ME - Framework 4.0 - Clean Win7 Service Pack 1 But no benchmark option in the menu ? My hardware is Asus R4E bios 2003 and a 3930K Edited September 18, 2013 by pharlap Quote
Massman Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Please try the latest version of XTU (4.2.0.8) Quote
LaTour Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 (edited) Done, that was to easy... sorry Run it and post it, thx Edited September 19, 2013 by pharlap Quote
Crew Strunkenbold Posted September 22, 2013 Crew Posted September 22, 2013 Got the chance to check with 4.2.0.8 -my celeron still doesnt work, same error msg as before -with my 2600k and 4770k trying to run the bench I get "The benchmarking process has failed and no score was generated as result." So things actually got worse. This worked before with 4.2.0.6 Quote
Massman Posted September 22, 2013 Author Posted September 22, 2013 Hm, no idea about the Celeron. What is the error message? About the "no score generated" - try running Windows Update on that Windows Installation. I encountered this problem when beta testing the v4.2.0.8 and this was the reply I received: It appears that XTU is having trouble validating the signature on the benchmark executable. The previous certificate we used to sign software binaries was set to expire next month, and the certificate Intel is using to replace it uses a different root certificate authority, because our previous root authority didn’t have the ability to create the new certificate types required by Windows 8.1 and beyond. Crew Strunkenbold Posted September 22, 2013 Crew Posted September 22, 2013 Unable to start Intel Extreme Tuning Utility. If there is another performance tuning application running, you must close it before trying to start this application. The Mutt reported this earlier in this thread. He had problem with his Celeron G550 and some mobile i3. Quote

Crew Strunkenbold Posted September 22, 2013 Crew Posted September 22, 2013 I just ran an update pack from this month, but that didnt help. So it seems that you really need an internet connection. Time for arming my smartphone for some tethering action... Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted September 25, 2013 Crew Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) Fresh full blown windows 7 install, fully updated it, XTU still doesn't want to run the benchmark... Anyone still has got any releases before 4.20.8 ? Sorry but this is too much to ask benchers to update e.g. their lite OSses... Everything worked perfectly with the previous version... on the same unupdated OS... Really frustrated about this version... Edited September 25, 2013 by Leeghoofd Quote
Crew Strunkenbold Posted September 25, 2013 Crew Posted September 25, 2013 Got it working now, I really had to connect to the internet. Like I said installed updates had no effect. But running windows update was like magic. I installed not a single update except Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool which it downloaded automatically and XTU started working. I disconnected the rig from the net again and XTU is still working. Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted September 26, 2013 Crew Posted September 26, 2013 lol that's the only update I did not select... trying again tonite... Quote
