CL3P20 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 if the focus was not to be on overall WR's.. then why Titan at all? **Can only hope for MSI sake that they have a tray of ES CPU for finals.. lest they take the blame once again for the 'brown hand' and rando-deaths. Bollocks really..cant believe they would step on their own toes like this. ..more popcorn i guess. Quote
Crew Vivi Posted June 27, 2013 Author Crew Posted June 27, 2013 the new evga E-power will probly not be retail by the start of the competition, so even if MSI allow it, it wont be allowed because it wasnt released, and the older ones aren't commercially available? Gonna be tricky Quote
Xtreme Addict Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 The problem is - if we can count epower the same rules as GPUs, CPUs and so on. In my opinion it can't be - cause the is no way of validating it. Second thing - it's hardmod. Can we ban hardmods? Those rules also don't apply to monitors, keyboards, PSU, memories... Quote

Same as trimmer pots, they are commercially available so its "fine?". Quote
ryba AICooling Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Ban Epower - then ban users who used it in 1st round. Quote
Crew Vivi Posted June 27, 2013 Author Crew Posted June 27, 2013 Ban Epower - then ban users who used it in 1st round. awww yeaaa Quote
xxbassplayerxx Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Well this got interesting. Who is making decisions? Perhaps they should actually join in the conversation here... or at least read through the thread. They seem extremely disconnected right now. Quote
Xtreme Addict Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Another thought... Epower can be considered as the only way of repairing burnt VGA (like Titan)... So users can't repair their VGAs? You can run stock or OC to the same level as stock VRM. How "repaired" graphics can be banned? maybe soon in contests we will be able only to use stock vgas with a protective sticker on a screw cause there was always possibility, that some part could be repaired in 3-rd party repair service Quote
Massman Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Confirmed. Are disallowed: - epower - any VRM from a different vendor than MSI - any titan picture with any other brand than MSI or Nvidia (you can use another brand of Titan but don't show that brand in the picture) Quote
Xtreme Addict Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Hahahahaah So ocers can use Lightning VRM but not Asus? I hope MSI will deliver their own VRM? and datasheets for Lightnings controllers and full guides? I can understand that MSI forbids Epowers if they are going to send to participants their own "MSI powers" Quote

ryba AICooling Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 this is ........ridiculous Try to make a zombie with Lightning I can make you sure that it's more ridiculous than rules Quote

giorgioprimo Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 (edited) that is why this thing is gonna be quite ridicolous first round allowed .....second round disallowed ?? is that fair ? Edited June 27, 2013 by giorgioprimo Quote
Perica_barii Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 (edited) Good point Giorgio.... Edited June 27, 2013 by Perica_barii Quote
tiborrr Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 (edited) So... 4C/8T Sandy Bridge CPUs are really allowed in B Class? -snip-, i'm out. Edited June 28, 2013 by Christian Ney Quote
Xtreme Addict Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 (edited) So... 4C/8T Sandy Bridge CPUs are really allowed in B Class? If so go F... yourself MSI, i'm out. i7 SB were allowed from the very beginning but Epower also... so now it's one big mistery :D I think that someone lost a bit his mind and got really confused in those rules making it's not good for MOA Edited June 27, 2013 by Xtreme Addict Quote
tiborrr Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 So, that literally means I need: 1) a good 3570K 2) a good Vishera 3) a good 2600K 1) and 2) are hard enough as it is, but number 3)... Thanks but no thanks. Quote
Xtreme Addict Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Yap, that's what I was talking on the very beginning that "cheap category - class B" isn't cheap overall Quote
Crew Vivi Posted June 27, 2013 Author Crew Posted June 27, 2013 (edited) i guess Round 2 is treated like PRO-oc cup where the competition is made so that one guy with a great cpu doesnt just bulldoze through all the stages and win. Its more expensive but i guess more fair Edited June 27, 2013 by Vivi Quote
