HWBOT Development: bugs, features and suggestions

This is driving me nuts. I went through some results and added pics and NOTHING else... a bunch of results have changed the benchmark they belong to.. e.g... a 3D03 became a 3D05, a 3D05 became a 3D03..... I cant even edit that info can I? so.. WTF? A bunch more have deleted themselves. Because this is fundamental stuff for the HWB code and servers, i'm a bit pissed off

I was just wondering, having changed my account name from "eppikk" to "Epic" will it affect my previous scores? My x86 secret validations were previously sent as "eppikk" but now that I changed names is it alright if they stay the same?

Has HWBot considered reporting statistics on the number of active members on a team? For example, on the following page it says OC Forums has 262 members who have contributed to the team total points: http://hwbot.org/community/team/oc_forums?tab=members However, that tends to lend the impression we are a huge team, when in fact we are a relatively small team with a long history. Every person currently active on a consistent basis knows the rest of the guys personally, and we consistently get a few members joining up every month to kick in a few points but not all of them stick around for the long haul. Hey guys, It's almost a year since we started the monthly HOC competitions and since winning/participating in these competitions will give you some points for the individual league, I'd like to know your thougths on the competitions so far. Anything we need to change? What do you like, dislike? Other comments?

Hey guys and gals, Just a heads-up for the upcoming Sandy Bridge release. In Rev4, we'll no longer accept non-retail revisions to participate in the end-user leagues (in the rev4 document named 'XOL'). So, there's no need to hunt early killer batches (if there actually are any) if you're not going to participate in the MFC league. In terms of 980X, this would mean: - A0 only in MFC league - B1 ES allowed in all leagues.

Last day or so, if I type in anything to the category search on the front page, I get the options, but if I click on any of them, I get an empty page. What's up?

This just ran through my head. It's been brought to my attention a couple of times now that HWBOT should set up a separate platform/(sub)forum for leading figures in the overclocking community. As main purpose, this subforum would allow these leading figures to debate on new features, suggestions, problems and so on. In theory, this sounds like a very nice idea, but in practical terms: how would this change the working of the bot? We have a part of the forum (this subforum) that is dedicated to thinking about the future of HWBOT, but very rarely I see leading figures posting ideas on the big topics (eg: hardware sharing) in this part of the forum. I want to make a thread for this feature so that opinions could be seen in a single place. Maybe this will be better than a dozen of them. Just to clarify what I mean by legends: this doesn't mean anyone who did something special for overclocking or the overclocking community. Some have been using this way for showing their HWBOT progress in their forum signature already, but I'm not sure if everyone knows it's possible to do it like this. Instead of a image, you can use the 2nd version of our forum engine. The nice thing about this way is that you can see the list of your latest submission and it's clickable. this is so we can do a hwbot site wide search of all mobile cpu or gpus benched. this will help us slowly group mobile parts by themselves. till staff can get around to making it official. this would include editing past scores as well this of course is just the hand full of us benching mobiles asking. thanks!

i guess it might have to do something with the new engine version, i noticed my signature got a "wash" and now it shows a white pattern all over it as you can see in my sig below it's not a problem to do a new one though but i wonder if will happen the same?

I see a LOT of scores in this bench without FPS breakdown. Seeing as the FPS details are available in the free version, there's no excuse to not have it present and it will make bugged-score finding much easier. Could FPS breakdown info be made mandatory?

I think a more appropriate poll would be whether or not to create two leagues...ametures & pros (sponsored or not). Or to leave it how it is. k|ngp|n originally came up with the idea of forgoing the points ranking for those sponsored, but then changed his mind (I guess :shrug:). The idea was for him and others with connections to have a platform to show thier stuff, whithout activly competing for rank. This was implemented via the "Do NOT participate in hwbot rankings" option. This idea was slightly flawed because many of the "pro" guys are still in it for the competition....not just the show. So now if they want to compete, they're forced to compete again…

Hi guys, don't know if it's already implemented or not, but in the past when it happened that I was reporting some submissions for cheats, errors etc the problem was that, if the "reported user" arrived before the moderator, he could delete the entry before measures could be taken against him. So, if I report a submission in which there isn't the resolution and he deletes it, it's ok... but if someone reports a photoshopped screen, the photoshopper needs to be banned: if he deletes the entry, the mods can't simply go on. Isn't there some kind of mechanism that, when a submission is reported, it remains "freezed" until the mods could check and take measures about it? T…

This topic came up at the last staff meeting: should we set the stock frequency of a CPU to the stock rating or the turbo rating of this CPU? I'm not against the idea of doing this ... after all, at stock settings the turbo mode will be enabled anyway. I vote 'set turbo mode as stock frequency'.

How come there is no individual submissions for the CPU and GPU scores, for instance in 3DMark Vantage? For example, im ranked 25th with a 5750, and managed to get a GPU score of 10893 with a 5750, and nicolasm, who is ranked 1st with a 5750, managed to get a GPU score of 10724 with a 5750. Only reason he's ranked 1st with a 5750, is because of his I7 980X. So, my point of this, is that there should be individual submissions for the CPU and GPU scores.
