General overclocking

I have tried a couple of times freezing VGA's without much success and after 20 mins it just seem to go to s*** and i just end up wasting LN 1. So for the basics, just vas or LET the entire board? 2. Using vas in or around the slot? Do i melt it in or just seal around once the vga is in place?? This can be difficult with little space(impact) as i cant get my fat fingers in to do this! 3. Is there any rules as to which mems dont like cold?? 4. Insulating from cold? (Foam etc) again is this card dependant and generally which areas?? 5. Does pot size matter?? For some old school fun and testings I sometimes overclock really old hardware, like FX 5600XT or FX 8600GT, FX 6800GS, FX 6800GT... Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone can shed a bit of light on the matter. Basically, I've recently acquired a H55M-UD2H with the intention to put it under LN2 in two weeks time for some dual core goodness. So, as you do, a bit of pretesting is required. I can't get the PCI-E frequency to go above 100MHz, which is limiting the BCLK ability of the board. As soon as it moves from 100MHz, the board refuses to boot. 101MHz is a no go, which is odd because I'm sure that should work... Has anyone come across this before and if so... how did you fix it? I can't seem to figure it out. I've tried lowering the QPI and DRAM speed but that doesn't let me put it any high…

im after bare bone settings so i dont need any other running service besides them , have them all off but cant find which services must be running for lan connection only for windows xp/vista/7 any help will be appreciated

Ich habe folgendes Problem. Ich habe noch 2 alte GTX295 rum liegen und wollte mal sehen was ich aus ihnen herausholen kann. Eine ist mit Volt mod, diese hab ich aber noch nicht weiter getestet. Bei der anderen habe ich das Problem das die Ergebnisse im Spiel und im benchmark (catzilla 720)ungefähr gleich bleiben ganz egal was ich für Werte einstelle habe es mit MSI afterburner und evga precision probiert die Temperaturen ändern sich auch nicht die eingegebenen Werte werden auch in gpuz angezeigt bloß es hat absolut keine Wirkung. Ich habe den Verdacht das es Vllt ein Treiber Problem ist. Könnt ihr mir dabei helfen?

How are you suppose to set the volatage properly on this board. i've just booted at 5ghz on an athlon x2 370k with 1.45+0.100000 in the bios, but when i get into the bios cpuz reads 1.7v!!! so i go back out of windows into the bios thinking cpuz is wrong and its now saying 1.708v+0.10000000? on my asus a88xm plus if i choose 1.45+0.1 its 1.55v in windows............... edit. i have updated the bios. its still random, but its only 1.665v now which is much better.

Ich habe jetz schon oft bilder gesehen von oc rigs mit älteren grafikkarten habe auch schon lang im internet gesucht aber nichts dazu gefunden. wird der cpu mit einer leistungsschwächeren Gpu entlastet oder haben die eine alte gpu einfach nur um einen monitor anschließen zu können. Bringt es in bestimmten benchmarks mehr punkte?

If you bench GTX-980 on Ln2 for FireStrike you have probably gotten this error, which will force you to totally restart your PC before the bench will run again. Tried to find some ways that you can fix it without having to reboot and mess with CBB's on GPU and CPU and save time. Didnt work list: Log out / Log back in Crash GPU driver on purpose Close and Reopen bench Set GPU clocks default then back again What works is just start skydiver till it runs 1 second then escape out, now you can run FS without the error and without rebooting Hope this can help some people save some money and time.

Hi guys, I have had a Asus REX X48 for a few years now. I got it defective, but could repair it (a northbridge coil had fallen off). I soldered it back on and could happily bench the board with 630 FSB @ LN2. Now however, there seems to be another problem, and maybe you can help me to figure out what could be wrong. The board wouldn't boot unless I would apply pressure onto the CPU cooler (pressing it down). Then it booted perfectly I unmounted the coolers now and measured the NB voltage, which was only at 0,8V. Hi Few days ago which i was playing with an AM3 platform , something crazy happend in my rig. I found that i can full unlock Sempron 145 to a Black Edition chip! It appeared as a two cores "AMD Engineering Sample" that was absolutely unlocked. CPU ratio unlocked to x31.5. (locked at x14 in stock) CPU-NB ratio unlocked to x25. (locked at x10 in stock) CPU VID & CPU-NB VID goes to 1.55v. (locked at 1.35v in stock) And it was interesting to see the "HTT ratio" was ulocked to x13. Because i never saw x13 even on AM3 Black Editions except on Phenom II X6!! As is clear , the "DA-C3" revision is just for "Regor" cores and there isn't any Black Edition on …

Hey all I have a problem, I think i'm missing something. The common parts: W7-64, nvidia GPUs (a selection of) Fire Strike Extreme. My GT1 is always right where I expect, my FS scores are also "right." My FS-E GT2 FPS are always VERY bad. I don't think I have throttling. I've tried a bunch of different drivers. Do different versions of 3DMark perform differently when combined with tweaks? My testing has shown nothing and.... i'm getting short on ideas Any input welcome Thanks!

I have a gigabyte R9 290X and I got sick and tired if adaptive voltage messing with stability so I decided to flash the PT3 bios that shamino put out. However after flashing the card with ATIWinFlash I restarted the computer and got all the way into windows to find out that nothing could recognize my GPU. I tried a second restart and same thing. The AMD driver nor windows nor gpu-z could recognize the gpu. So I flashed the gpu back to the gigabyte BIOS and it works again however I have no ideas to why PT3 won't work and I really want to get rid of the adaptive voltage that ramps my card down bellow 1.2v once it hits 80c regardless of the offset that I set So does anyone …

Hi boys, i have some issues to open CPU-Z on my MSI Z97 MPOWER and 4790K. It' s all OK on WIN 7, but not on XP. I installed CHIPSET and MEI DRIVERS from ASUS, but when i open CPU-Z it arrive to MONITORING scan and then BLOCK. Someone can tell me WHY ? Thanks Andrea

Is it possible to edit a bios to allow a CPU to run at lower ram dividers than those already available in the BIOS or are the limitations in place due to what the IMC is capable of? Just wondering as I am wanting to try something different soon if it's actually possible.

Hi boys... I tried on LN2 this vga, stable on 3DM01 and AQUAMARK with 1.30V and -100 @ 1250 gpu, but with other bench it's instable...If i go colder, vga artifacts...With MSI AB I can give 1.35V...i use LN2 bios and all deep switch ON...Someone can give me advises ? Thanks Andrea
