GRIFF Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Another one of E8500 better than two previous. Cascade repaired 1 week ago and this is first verification with real load. Quote
Dry_Ice777 Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Amazing! Some BIOS settings for mere mortals? ^^ Quote
TerraRaptor Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 So you are in >700FSB club?) No jokes, great achievement. What was your air limit? Quote
GtiJason Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 One of 2 REX's to do 700+ ! Killer job Griff 1 Quote
GRIFF Posted April 18, 2019 Author Posted April 18, 2019 Thank you guys. With this cpu on Cascade and NB on air I haven't tried. I will try in the coming days. Impression that I am limited by the CPU. In my opinion the lack of over 700 results due to the cost and rarity of these boards. I have 3 other non-functioning ones. Two of which have SB dead. Let's see how they will go up once they are repaired. I wanted to say thanks to Tapakah, he sold me this card because he didn't go over 600 of fsb. The problem was the lack of compound between the NB and the heat sink. 2 Quote
d0minat0r Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Well done! What temps on CPU PWM without heatsink? Quote

GRIFF Posted May 25, 2019 Author Posted May 25, 2019 You solve this problem with 1mm copper plate between NB and heat think or use this board with custom NB cooler. Quote
GRIFF Posted May 25, 2019 Author Posted May 25, 2019 since these boards have problems with SB (they fail without warning and reasons) I suggest putting a small heat sink on the SB too. Quote

GRIFF Posted May 25, 2019 Author Posted May 25, 2019 First case: - data lines of the usb ports or a usb port only in short or almost, normal resistance must be on the 1-10Mohm Quote
GRIFF Posted May 25, 2019 Author Posted May 25, 2019 Second case: -- heating, even minimal, of the SB from the card off, power supply connected to the 220V. It heats up because the internal circuit of the SB supplied with 5Vsb voltage has low or short resistance. Normally in this case the card does not switch on. Quote
ground Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 The second case also helps identify dead chipsets on modern platforms. If they burn your fingers after trying to turn the system on a couple times they are likely dead. Quote
GRIFF Posted May 25, 2019 Author Posted May 25, 2019 Third case: - SB overheating from the card on. It normally warms up so much that you can't hold your finger over it. Quote
GRIFF Posted May 25, 2019 Author Posted May 25, 2019 Symptoms preliminary to death: difficulty or inability to detect USB and HDD devices at startup. Quote
