Remember we made the changes because the community complained about rev2, and we thought they had a valid point. Feel free not to use hwbot any more, no hard feelings. It's the only way we will now we need the change the algorithm again. Oh I was looking on the 2x 5970 score of stummerwinter - a lot money and work is involved, it is one of the highes 03 all over (197k...) and it gives.....11.5 points...whereas 150-165.5 points (triple as much as 5970 @03!!!) are awarded for a "simple" SINGLE GPU WR.... I am one of thoose overclockers who simply buys what it takes to crush the big numbers - that is how overclocking was for years and hwbot wants to change it now??? Why not giving every class a 100 or 150 points, as EVERY WR in EVERY class is worth THE SAME - even if only 4 people compete this is a topnotch game and everybody has to put a lot effort into it... What annoys me most is that hwbot is trying to judge which WR is worth more while everybody else who has been into this game for more than 5 years knows that every global WR is worth the same, no matter how much money was involved and how many people overall challenged this WR... Do you think it is an achievement to be No. 89 of 150 and deserves to get a lot points for it??? Beeing No.89 you should get kicked in the nuts but for sure not get any points.... I think you simply focused too much on the average joe overclocker and forgot that this game should still be compatible for the "elite" overclockers using latest and best technology...I want 5970, you want to force me 5870 just because of your freakin' points systems if I want to see me in TOP20 / TOP10...now you force everybody wanting to climb up to buy single card GPU...see what you've done with your system? screwed up a wide range of high end stuph, limiting us to 5870...maybe you just forgot to rename yourself during all the other work - is this now "averagejoehardwarebotsinglegpucompetition"? wow until today I could never describe how it works here in one word...now I can :woot: And yes massman you should do any maybe also move my posts right there Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Then you are in the crowd they want to realign... seems you are missing the point of the rev3 and are just sort of digusted that the cash yo put into it isn't as rewarding anymore. Those who were on top in REv 2 will still be in Rev3... points for the easy I have loads of cash to spend crowd will be less... this was really getting silly as those that were able to buy 5970's and a good CPU gained more than those that benched their a s s es of to get anywhere... it had to be corrected somehow...sometime... somewhere... Give it some time it's it first day out, some things will prolly be adjusted on demand of the users... I enjoy overclocking for the fun of it, not for the points gained... But I just feel now like the best of the best stuff is not worth it now, why push the bleeding edge without reward is what they are saying. A e6600 is more of a money maker than a 975 in the new version which just seems a bit backwards. You were talking about getting more sponsors. Why would they want to back you when you are in-directly forcing people to scour ebay and other forums looking for old hardware that is worth more points then jumping over to the egg to buy their newest products that are worth jack you know? If I am not too screwed about all this, I maybe take a friend into new heights just by telling him which hardware to get and maybe helping him a bit with DICE...he will jump into TOP20 like a rocket for sure...much more easy as v2 was...but I think I understood what this is all about - hwbot was never what I thought it is...it is not a "High-End World Record platform" it is a "mass benching platform" or whatever you want to call it now... ...and so I am out... Thats exactly what I have done honestly since I understood this part completely, got a 5870 from my limited sponsor, used DICE and wallah I have 125 global points where as I had in total half of it using 2 x 5870 and my other 200 submissions. But now take this, I am sorta of a guy who gets very limited support from Hardware companies, 5870 was not a problem, but getting 5970 is/was a PITA but I would have persisted with my links to get me a/couple of 5970, if I didnt get any support I would have then put my own money and bought one or maybe 2 of them so that I could have tried reaching the top, ofcourse the TOP Most guyz you are posting again and again would certainly go for overall WR's and still continue to do so even without the boints but for mid level ocers like me, I wouldnt touch 5970's even with a barge pole, now honestly tell me guyz, you think this is the way to go forward???? His margin is solely caused by him preparing for Rev3. Give the ranking a month and then you can make this kind of claims 2) If he can managed top20 - cool! 3) No one obliges you to be active at hwbot. My guess is that this score was done using the checksum validation, but that info isn't visible anywhere;) Also, there is a bug in the wPrime 1024m tricore rank - alot of unlocked CPUs are there, but when I try to moderate them I realize that they are already identified as quads by the engine, so they shouldn't really be there at all... In Rev3 you still need skill, time and money. But in many categories you simply don't get the points like many said before. Just because there are only 30 competitors that doesn't mean that it is easy to reach top10. Quite frankly, it's super-easy to get into the top10 in most 30-people categories. Everytime I bench a VGA card, I just do vmod + different air cooler and get into the top with ease. It takes some time to get to know the card though ... For some top5 spots I spend an afternoon tweaking and tuning the system.
