I'm thinking about getting a new GPU (HD 6530D isn't really cutting it), and I can't really decide what to get. I game at 1280x1024, but I might upgrade to a 1680x1050 monitor in the future. I was originally thinking of getting a Sapphire HD 7770 Vapor-X, but the GTX 650 Ti came out earlier this month and it seems pretty good for my needs. Should I get the Sapphire card or the 650 Ti (please specify a good model for overclocking) or a different card?

Who's seen the Z77 boards from ECS? The AM3+? The FM1/FM2? Even the Older Clarkdale stuff. The layout- What's good? What's not quite right? The BIOS- what would people like to see changed? What stops you from buying an ECS board? What makes you want to buy one? If a friend/client asked you about ECS, what would you say? Yea, i've left this short and "open," i'm not gonna direct peoples thinking. If ECS get good feedback, the products will get better...because ECS are LISTENING and I know first-hand that is true. Please, link people to this thread. ECS users, lovers, sceptics and haters.

Both install fine and show up in device manager. Same bios on each card....both show up in nvidia control panel, and it even allows me to select one of them for physics but no sli option. I'm dumb thanks. Btw using latest whql driver xp x86

  5. Is there any evidence that the GTS440 actually exists? I've been looking, the only mention of a GTS440 is in a wildly inaccurate table showing the lower-end 4-series which has totally wrong specs for the GTS450 and also talks about a GTS430....which I can't find either.

Hi there guys, it's 2 days now that I'm trying to install XP on the MVE (me and TheKing, we're planning some fun with two X1950XTX we found for a few bucks on ebay, so XP is necessary), but it always gives the 0x0000007B error after having loaded everything from the CD and before starting the real installation, asking where to install etc... Tried with the stock 0207 bios, tried with the 0020, nothing. Tried in UEFI and in Legacy mode, nothing. Tried on AHCI and IDE, tried an old WD Raptor 36GB and an OCZ vertex2 SSD, nothing. I tried with F6 at the beginning of installation procedure, but then it's a complete mess without a floppy drive, even forcing the usb key as a…

  7. Hi , good day guys , i have found a Bug in GPUZ running SLI. I have been doing some testing for the last few weeks using MVE , MVG and 2x 8800GTX SLI, I have tried to use old drivers but i ran into a lot of trouble and i was unable to activate SLI in good old drivers in XP32 or W7x64 on Z77 chipset even when GPUZ shows SLI Available there was no option in Nvidia control pannel to activate SLI. I started testing latest and new drivers 2xx drivers family and 3xx drivers family , finally i was able to activate sli in control panel with newer drivers but GPUZ shows SLI disable eventhought SLI it is activated and fully working. Just a heads up of this bug on Z77 and new driver…

Not sure if the Samsung 30nm ram flu has struck hwbot yet, but since I have not read about it here, I might as well post it . The original topic is posted on Xtremesystems, but also other overclocking results are appearing for example on the dutch community: tweakers.net The power of this ram is that it costs almost nothing (in NL €18 for 4gb) and it overclocks way better than average. If it is not for the fun, you should still buy it because it is so cheap. The ram we are talking about is the new samsung 30NM ram with code number: M378B5273DH0-CH9 OR M379B5273DH0-YK0 The last one (YK0) is low profile ram, and it looks like it is not sold in europe. The first…

is there a performance diffence between those 2 ? cause i currently have a binned 3770k and i have problems with it (this was a costa rica one) i currently going to change (test another one) to see if my problems are fixed after the change. so yeah is there a difference ? FunSkiLZZ

  12. prejudice to all do not understand why I can not rise above 206 MHz bus with no cpu, everything and stable (tested with various cpu) I clicked on ULTRA but nothing changes, the motherboard used CUSL example http://hwbot.org/submission/2223457_gigioracing_cpu_frequency_pentium_3_800mhz_eb_s370_1225.43_mhz http://hwbot.org/submission/2268715_gigioracing_cpu_frequency_pentium_3_600mhz_eb_s370_917.95_mhz

  14. Hey guys, got my super awesome totally-must-have RampageExtreme X48 today. Tested with 2x E8400 and a lot of DDR3 Ram modules. One CPU does about 610x9 FSB, the other one about 625x9 and 645x8 (C0 and E0) @ Singlestage on my Rampage Formula. Well, got them to 583 FSB on my REX. It's even one of the "good" ones with completely blue PCI-E slots. Anyone ever had a worse REX?! vNB = 1,67V. I have to add that, when I first dismounted the boards cooling system, several components were still stuck to the coolers. Nice build quality Asus. Had to resolder them first. One of it was a choke for the Northbridge potential delivery. Do you think this could be a reason for the …

Hi boys... I have a strange problem with my mboard or my cpu, I don't know what is the problem! I have use a 2600K for some benchs with ram in slot dual channel red with no problem but now when I start the system I have 55 error code with the ram in dual channel slot red. I have try the other slot black and nothing, error code 55. The system boot only in single channel mode. I try the same ram with a 3570K and the sistem start regular in dual channel mode slot red. What is the problem? It's 2600K ram controller died? Thanks

    In short.... any hacks?

  17. Thishas reared its head again and is doing mine in. Seems highly dependent on motherboard. I have a GTS450. Some boards work fine with it, some are unusable. Has anyone read of a good fix for this? At the moment, my problem is manifesting as a freeze and restart when I boot. GPU jumps to 3D voltage when I would normally go from the welcome screen to desktop and this is where the freeze is. In the past, it's shown itself as a "display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" error EDIT: In safe mode, I set power options to Performance and it restarted normally. Dumb luck? Fix? I dunno.

Just installed a 4way SLI GTX680 on the Maximus V Extreme. Came from 3way SLI where my Unigene score was 5500 stock on 3770k at 4500mhz. In 4way my score is 4250. Noticed some heavy stuttering during the bench. I think this is not normal? 1200watt and 1000watt PSU. Solutions? Installed 3D01 on same system, max fps is 180. http://www.hwbot.org/submission/2304105_zupernico_3dmark2001_se_4x_geforce_gtx_680_18026_marks Looks normal according to this result, can't be right no?

  21. I've got an oportunity to try the new power supply from Enermax. I do want a whole perfect PSU torture rig with ATE (Automatic Test Equipment), AC power analyzer and temperature controlled hot box, but this time we'll leave that to professional PSU review sites. We'll try it out the OC style. Just like ENERMAX calls this unit, the "SUPER OVERCLOCK EDITION". You may ask what makes this unit the "OC" edition? It's single +12V rail design, hard wired 24 pin ATX connector, dual 8 pin CPU power connectors and dual 8 pin GPU power connectors while other from the Platimax series (500W, 600W, 750W CrossFireX™, 850W SLI®, 1200W CrossFireX™ and 1500W) are multi rail design and…

Assuming everyone tests their GPUs individually first (and properly,) what kind of drop in benchable MHz do people notice when they move to SLI or Crossfire? (if the PSU is not a limiting factor) I don't have much multi-GPU experience, but it looks like i'm losing somewhere in the region of 10%. Is that higher than usual? Cheers

  23. Quad Sidded Technology ? Nah, just IBM PS: 4 x 8 chips Sticker says: 256 MB-SDRAM 32MBx64 - 7ns 32chips Swiss Quality / 99.04.06 And this one also from IBM with 2x8 chips only has 32 MB of memory

  24. Look at the pictures, they say it all. IF I lower teh temps on cpu under -120 i got a kind of "slowdown" in the frames. I already disabled GEN3 in the bios. Any idea ??
