Mobo used to test:

ASUS STRIX Z270G R.O.G.

Cooling:

EKWB Supreme HF Nickel Full Cu, custom watercooling - not overkill...

5000/4500/3600 1.235V BIOS (cpu-z @ 1.226V)

ASUS has a LOT of work with Z270G STRIX, either that or this CPU is odd.... My SA is set to 1.3V to boot with 3466 on A1+B1, A2+B2 = 3600 same settings, but higher is not happening, and it won't boot most of the time..

CPU does

5200/4900/xxxx @ 1.39v

5100(4900, AVX offset)/4500/3200 @ 1.31V P95 8-8 ~ 89 to 93C

I think this chip deserves a delid :)

And I got lucky in the ram-draw as well... It IS the mobo, likely the BIOS, that is holding me back

Ram @ 3400 16-16-16-36

3466 is max stable for booting, higher it wont boot most of the time..

This it can do at 11-11-11....

3200 10-10-10, fairly acceptable voltage, higher wont allow 1T on the mobo..

A tiny bit of pure madness, 9-9-9 and unacceptable high voltage...

To add to this I figured out the average voltage needed based upon the binning criteria, as well as the median V. There were 35 total entries 3 of which have no info, so 32 counted

Total = 41.635v

41.635 / 32 = 1.30109375v Average

High- 1.375v Low- 1.230v Median- 1.3025v

Full disclosure: CPUs were provided by Intel, coming straight from the production line. I didn't see any spectacular clocks at the World Tour event, so I'm guessing whoever buys retail now will have more luck than us :D

5.0/4.5GHz R15 doesn't pass up to 1.45V

1600MHz mem needs 1.10V SA for memtest

1800MHz mem needs 1.35-1.40V SA for memtest

1866MHz mem won't pass 32M with any SA

That one is really banana. Put it to a key chain and end it's misery.

Two pieces here,both L644,one 5 ghz 1.32 cinebench,one 5 ghz 1.22/4500 cache,4000 xmp ram. Need to keep trying for that 5ghz@1.10V :D

Luckor, again you win the silicone lottery :P

That means my issue with around 1.3V SA to get 1733 might be the chip?? Despite it does really low timings pretty darn close to that frequency??

If so, anything wrong in using lets say 1.4-1.5V SA - and indeed thinking daily, I cannot accept that the chip won't do 2000MHz ram.

Can you guys post which board used as these figures are meaningless without. I.e, asus 8, ocf, mocf....and ofc apex when released!

Don't fully agree with you, but I do think the more information the better.

Hope #0 can be edited to a list of information 'required'

Or a new thread starting with spreadsheet of information gathered in this thread, and with instructions how to test - in order to get valid data that can be added to the spreadsheet.

Meanwhile, I will stay in my corner and be grumpy why we don't do XTU benchmark instead, it sure needs higher vcore to pass, CB15 is way too light.. Hope stores that pre-bin CPUs actually use P95 8-8 AVX (The Leeghoofd test!) and not CB15, would suck to buy a chip thinking its stable and then it turns out to be CB15 :(

But as for XTU or harder benches/tests, all the binners used CB15, so, it makes sense to stick with that test...

I can get 51 stable with 2 AVX offset (working on getting it to 1) before the delid - as for the 8-8 test, and that hits very close to 100C which is instant freeze

60mV on vcore?

Well, while it has impact on VID, it does not affect finding lowest vcore for the test? Personally I used lowest vcore at LLC 7 on ASUS while testing my chip, board is listed in my post too anyway.

Ofc it does. 1.25v on mocf could be 1.3v on hero making any r15 @1.25v 1.35v etc irrelevant without posting which board. In the real world that could be the difference between 5.2 chip and a 5.3 chip on ambient.

Not just for batch thread info, but for sellers / buyers of used chips I'd say that's quite important to know.

For example, I've got a chip here that's .050v difference between mocf and asus around 1.3v.
