We ran the GPU-Z sensor tabs for all current sponsored competitions, if you get used to screenshotting these you will have less probs later..

 

As a moderator the more proof I have the easier it is to pick up special scores...

nope it means you can sub one 6700/7700K and one 8086/8700or9900K sub

What about using a sempron 150 for AM2+ through to AM3+ for the ref clock? I didn't get a clarification on this

Defined by Socket type in CPU-Z / HWBOT Database, Meaning it'd only count for AM3 regardless of what board you used it in.

But this is my point and where both myself and others get confused. The reference frequency is a motherboard category, so in essence surely it should be defined by what socket the motherboard is and not the CPU used? I really don't mind which way the competition is formatted, only that I get an official ruling on it as it will determine what board I need to run etc.

That example doesn't clear anything up. All different s775 cpus are still on a s775 motherboard. The question is does an AM3 cpu on an AM2+ board count as AM3 or AM2+, which still hasn't been clearly answered.

HWBot also sometimes restricts 3D benchmarks by CPU socket - is that also confusing to you? It's just a way of picking the hardware eligible for a stage.

Sigh - if you bench a Xeon5240, which is socket 771, at DFI LP DK P45-T3RSB PLUS modded, it shows socket 771 under mainboard , if you bench an E8500 it shows 775 - does this mean you can use the same board for two different results? I think this is the main problem... So it has to be more or less put on cpu socket

The database already has all motherboards listed by socket. Seems like it'd be pretty damn easy to do the results by the socket that a motherboard is listed as using rather than the one that the cpu is listed as using.

Then you cannot use the rule quoted above, you have to clarify for stage three that it is meant as mainboard socket and you also can only submit 1151 for all stages once. Seems the problem should be solved then

I'll maybe get some backlash from this but the Competition rules are getting ridiculous. First it was the meaningless mainboard tab with the Team Cup. For example AM3/DDR2. Okay you have a DDR2 tab and a CPU tab so who cares what board your using?

 

Same for this Comp. GPU sensor tab? Really? Who cares what temp. your card is @? I have a feeling and it's only that that this was precipitated by a bunch of whiners from last year and not the staff.

Rules always adapt due to some special scores from the past... same rules apply for pro competitions, I try to moderéate eaxch day so there's still plenty of time to renbench.

Umm the main window shows GPU/mem frequency.. So redundancy is the rule? Ridiculous. I see the whole mainboard tab thing was not addressed. Once again pointless. It's nit like I can stick an AMD chip in a =n Intel board.

 

It has nothing too do with re-benching I don't mind that all. I should have read the read the rules more carefully. That doesn't make them not asinine.
