Posted August 26, 20195 yr So after having an absolute blast at the PA Party put on by Funsoul and crew, I got to thinking about doing an event either in the spring time or for Country Cup. At this time I want to see what kind of interest there is for a Country Cup 2020 party/bench meet/get together whatever you want to call it. Location: IN/IL/KY area When: Obviously during Country Cup How Long: 3-5 days probably? There are Venues here that have the ability to host anywhere between as little as 25 to more than 250. Ample power available, plenty of LN2 available, and centralized traveling whether driving or flying. I personally think it would be neat to get all the big name OCs from USA involved as well as those just starting out and make a big event out of it. Letting people watch, maybe have a workshop or two while there, etc.
August 26, 20195 yr Allen's ALWAYS interested hehe This one will be closer for him, though so that's sure to help. I'd be interested. Not sure whether do-able but certainly want to stay posted. Reach out if/when there's anything where you think I can help!
August 27, 20195 yr If we want to do it for Country Cup then I think the only time that's viable for most people is first two weeks of November, after that you get into Thanksgiving and December is basically a no go for most people.
August 27, 20195 yr Can't say yes ATM but I'm definitely interested. I'll have to see where my finances stack up at that time.
August 27, 20195 yr Totally interested. Just would need to figure out a good meeting location and timeframe
September 6, 20195 yr If this doesn't conflict with soccer/school/family and I can get some practice with cold before then I would be interested. Can't promise that I'm coming though.
September 24, 20195 yr @Leeghoofd Has the timeline for country cup been decided yet? I feel like it would make a difference if we decide to do a benchmeet for country cup this year.
September 25, 20195 yr Gotta say here, December is really impractical for a lot of people, at least for me it is. A longer gap between TC and CC also won't hurt tbh. Just my opinion here, agree or disagree.
September 25, 20195 yr Crew it has been this period since at least two years now, hardware specs will be known at the beginning of the next month
October 6, 20195 yr So I'm gonna try to host a weekend bench meet in November at my house for anyone in the Midwest as well as anyone else who wants to travel, although I'm expecting a max of like 5-10 people. If more people show up we'll make room. Is there a weekend in November that works best for ya'll? I'm thinking first or second weekend but am open to non Thanksgiving suggestions. Also it'll be byob but I'll probably have some stuff as well
November 18, 20195 yr If you want to meet up in order to comiserate together on how you once again came third in Country Cup that's fine by me ? I just wouldn't plan it this far in advance, it's a bit limiting.

December 5, 20195 yr Anyone need a 5970 for stage 14? I can't even remember but is that the last dual gpu card AMD ever made or were there hotter monstrosities? I don't need it back alive and def don't want it back if it dies so no holds barred. Edited December 5, 20195 yr by chew*

December 5, 20195 yr Author I could giver a shot if you want, would have to look over Stage 14 to make sure I have the rest of the necessary equipment.

So apparently there isn't a vega pro duo but there is a fiji and polaris. The vega dual gpu card is the v340 which doesn't have proper drivers for an OS, it has drivers for esxi and basically is only made for VMs. Lots of other gcn based dual gpu cards from AMD that you haven't mentioned though

I've been trying with a GTX 690 but it always craps out during the second test.

December 8, 20195 yr Anybody have a GTX 470 they can bench for stage 12? Mine turned up dead so I went with the GTX 770.
