8 Pack Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Which version currently works?? and we can post scores with, because this pile of junk certainly does not. Two fresh installs new drivers etc including LAN not working!!! Such software for pro cup!! Oh dear me!!! Quote
Massman Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 V4.2.0.8 is the only one that is allowed. What error are you seeing? Quote
8 Pack Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) When you click on the benchmark button. Error benchmark cant be run and repeat amd repeat and repeat!! New install same again!! Edited October 6, 2013 by 8 Pack Quote
Massman Posted October 6, 2013 Author Posted October 6, 2013 If with Windows 7, hook the system up to the internet once when loading XTU and it should resolve itself. Quote
8 Pack Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Tried that mate. Now spent six hours on this. Fresh install. Only LAN driver, VGA and Chipset. Windows Update enabled as this is what fixed Sniper Oz's problems. Reinstalled tried withy only LAn, Reinstalled tried with all updates enabled. CPU is stock memory is at 1333mhz and the system is totally stable I tested with Prime and Linx for abit just to see. Quote
Gunslinger Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) I'm getting the same error here, can't get a single run to start. Is it possible for HWBot to host the latest version or the version we're supposed to be using? Intel's download page sucks. So this thing will only run if you're connected to the internet? Crew Leeghoofd Posted October 6, 2013 Crew Posted October 6, 2013 I ran into issue when prepping the OS for the X79 setup. The just hook it up to the internet didn't work in the same way as with the Z87... I had to install a whole lot of updates before it started to work... Plz provide PJ with the log files which you can find here: C:\ProgramData\Intel\Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (you have to make hidden folders visible) Quote
8 Pack Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Which updates?? I downloaded all from WIndows update as Sniper Oz said this helped him. Still samne error. Mike if you get it going let me know how. Six hours now wasted and still no go. Intel need to sort this!! Its on pro cup and the HyperX Kingston comp which is only on for four weeks gives them very little time. Maybe change Pro Oc to a bench that works?? Cine or similar??? I just tried on daily rig!! Same error. I am going to try at work tomorrow also. Quote
Gunslinger Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I got it working using retail OS, no tweaking it, combined with internet connection. Win7 64 bit as well as Win8.1 64 bit, needed to install .NET 3.5 and couple of other files as well, but Win8.1 sorted those out automatically. FWIW, scored 7 points higher in Win 8.1 at exact same clocks. Quote
Massman Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 The benchmark is "working", Ian. We get about 900 submissions per week. There is a problem with V4.2.0.8, Windows 7, and X79 mainly. I have forwarded Intel the issue, logs, and requests for quick solution. Quote
l0ud_sil3nc3 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Got it working as well on Z87, just hooked up the internetz and everything was good, still have not given X79 a try yet. Quote
8 Pack Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Trying again now fingers crossed!! Super Pi and Pifast seem to be abit easier to get working Quote
HiVizMan Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I can get it to work on Windows 8 and 8.1 is this allowed as a OS for this benchmark? Quote
Massman Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 Yes. The latest version (V4.2.0.8) is using a different timer than the default one in Windows 8/8.1 and is unaffected by downclocking. Quote

l0ud_sil3nc3 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 ^yikes indeed! not bad considering I spent about four hours trying to get it to just run, and all it took was LAN + connection to the internet, nothing else. Quote
Massman Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 Hm, that XTU Settings tab ... saw you found that option too, George Quote
edkiefer Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 That's impressive OC on mem up one and lower CL by 2 , what voltage did it need to pull that off ? Little off topic does XTU install many added services ,as I was thinking of using it to tweak settings in windows , then once found sweet spot set bios . Instead of constant reboots to bios . Quote
Massman Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 Not that I'm aware of. XTU installs the XTU Service (surprise!), and then requires the services other OC tools require as well. For example MEI driver. Quote

8 Pack Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Yeah it installs MEI mate. Still not working here using install from work. Interestingly none of the PC in the tech dept got it to work yesterday when I tried!! All fresh installs on brand new boxes. Quote
Massman Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 Windows 7? Any hooked up to the internet? Quote
