aerotracks Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I've had these MFR sticks for a while, never got around to fooling with them. First result 1.76V, will try to tighten up a little. Quote
Guest Bullant Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Looks good man,new ic is always fun working out sub timings and freq for best eff Quote
aerotracks Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) Looks good man,new ic is always fun working out sub timings and freq for best eff Thanks man, it's good fun. I have another Hynix kit here I'll be testing soon. Kicked it up to 5G, not quite breaking the 6min barrier. Edited May 26, 2016 by aerotracks Quote
xxbassplayerxx Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Were there every any DS MFR sticks? Seems that would have been the best of both words. Quote
TaPaKaH Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Dual-sided MFR had a hard time going over 1333/1400MHz. Quote
xxbassplayerxx Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Bummer. Any chance that was just Z97 having a hard time with 8GB sticks? Quote
TaPaKaH Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 No way to know, since there are no other 8GB sticks that can even get close to 1400. Quote
sabishiihito Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I remember pushing some DS MFR to 2933 long time ago but it was only bench stable and the timings weren't the best. Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk Quote
aerotracks Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I can only speak for the DS DDR4 MFR I tested, they were just plain awful. Finishing up on testing these, C10 with lower 3rds is not the way to go, also 25C water = no 5G cache Quote
Guest k.pisti Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Sure, 2x8GB kits are most often MFR double sided, but very hard on IMC. Best specs I've heard of was 2933C12 TridentX 2x8GB. Quote

There was supposed to be a 2x8GB 3000C12 kit but I guess it never saw the light of day. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?280776-Gskill-TridentX-F3-2800C11Q-16GTXD&p=5189700&viewfull=1#post5189700 Edited May 27, 2016 by sabishiihito Quote
aerotracks Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 (edited) All those kits that never made it to market. I swapped kits, CFR time looks much more like it Edited May 29, 2016 by aerotracks 1 Quote
aerotracks Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 (edited) Anyone seeing weird stuff going on with 2600/2666 mem speed on X04/X08 BIOS and Win10 Creator's Update? Everything is fine with 2400, but 2600 and 2666 get me blue screen (System Service Exception, KMODE not handled, Memory Management...) at logon screen in Win10. I cleared CMOS, reflashed both BIOS chips with X04 resp. X08, swapped CPUs and mems... same thing. Then I tried Win7 and voila everything works. Seems I've already had 4670k before on the board with win10 some time ago, 3000 worked back then: aerotracks`s XTU score: 1170 marks with a Core i5 4670K I don't have my MFR at hand so I'm not able to countercheck 3000. Noxinite Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 I'm currently getting stuck at '8' on bios 1 and '20' on bios 2 on the Z97X Soc Force LN2. Anyone ever had this issue? Quote
ozzie Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 just a thought, have you tried 1 stick at a time, see if theres any conflict, if 1 will do the speed and the other doesnt want to but will go at a lower speed, but not the same speed together, if so maybe you found a problem with a ram stick, you know what youre doing, just a suggestion noxi Quote
Noxinite Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Tried single and dual channel in different dimms and with different IC sticks. I get same result with no ram installed as well. Next thing to test is Patriot ram to see if it actually has a thicker PCB. http://forum.hwbot.org/showpost.php?p=422822&postcount=352 Quote
Noxinite Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 vaseline on the board ? It used to, but I cleaned it. Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted August 1, 2017 Crew Posted August 1, 2017 You sure all vaseline is revomed ? Only thing I can think off is to clean the socket and dimm slots with some contact cleaner. Quote
GtiJason Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 (edited) It used to, but I cleaned it. You think the PCH is dead ? I might be able to help you out with a good new Z97 board (Impact VII, minty OCF + SOCFlin), especially if I jump on X299. I'll have no time for ddr3 Edited August 1, 2017 by GtiJason Quote
Bullant Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 (edited) Some PSC I bough little while ago, never tried these before...they seem to max out at 1.89v that's not the best sign for cold. I might test them cold on another platform Just a stabilty test no waza and had most things open while running GSkill Pi 2400Mhz 9-11-9 kit Edited November 1, 2018 by Bullant 2 Quote
suzuki Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 Good imc on that Pentium. Did you had any time to bench on 1366 ? Also,do you keep your ss with no mounting kit on the board ? Quote
Bullant Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 (edited) Hey , i just hold the ss on the CPU unto the ss gets cold and then once frozen the paste will hold the ss to the CPU ahah I ran a quick 1366 with my x5650 and psc air 40.9xx 6-9-6 2000 think it was, little more fine tune psc may do 39s air.Would need cold on the psc to go lower.....I'll post the screen up later trying to get some more hypers as I only have two Edited November 1, 2018 by Bullant 1 2 Quote

Administrators websmile Posted November 1, 2018 Administrators Posted November 1, 2018 What SN are the 2400C9, Bull? I really like these kits, I sold most of my psc including some 2400c8, 2400c9 and all 2000c6 over time plus all BBSE, but the 2400c9 always were most fascinating for me. 1 Quote
